Travelled up to London yesterday to meet George and his SL350. '03 car with less than 4000 miles on it. Never waxed, just handwashed. Car was fairly clean but paint was dull & lifeless.

Process was to polish & finish using the Makita and a mix of Menzerna & Meguiars polishes. LSP Collinite 845 as I'm running low on Zymol and have yet to test its winter durability.

Got to work in another great basement garage with power, water and light and also managed to pick up some more work too ;)

Terrific job! Just one question...how do you (and others) find time to tape off sections and do all the side by sides? I wish I could do that but people want their cars done and I have other appointments to get to. :nixweiss

We are not as busy as you are. :D

Very impressive!

I have found that taping off actually saves time compared to going over the whole vehicle with final detail trying to remove the residue left over... It only takes a few minutes once you get the hang of it.

Remember I'm only a P/T detailer Scott although TBH taping up took me about 15 minutes all in and the 50/50 shots required an extra strip of tape down the panel so not so bad. It also saves me having to QD dried in polish from awkward areas like door shuts etc ;)
