Menzerna vs Einszett Pro-Line products

Could someone comment on Menzerna SIP/106FF vs Einszett Pro-Line Intensive Paste/High Gloss Polish/Final Finish?

Thanks.

I have both HGP and Menz 106FF. They both produce similar results; both are a bit messy to use and difficult to remove.

I have the HGP and use with the Flex...using it at a low speed works great....I used it on 2 or 3 and the results were great...very very close to 106FF...lower speeds result in less gumming and dust..and easy removel....to fast and your going to create some hard to remove stuff....I have not tried the Intensive pasta yet ..but I would think it would work the same on the lower rpm's of the Flex...or should I say OPM's

I like the Pasta Intensiv too.

Good initial cut, but gentle enough. Works extremely well with a DA, but it can gum up when overused. Gives a very fine, rich finish, which is almost LSP-ready. With the correct technique it can be finished to LSP-ready levels.

Al, that's exactly what my experience with High Gloss was, too. Keep the RPM at 1k or less, then just work it until it disappears. Hardly any residue left, and what *was* left was easily removed. But if you try and work it *over* 1k rpm, it would flash over and be very difficult to remove. It definitely would let you know what your buffer speed was. :)

I just finished doing the Denali XL with the 1Z Pro-Line (silicone-free, bodyshop-safe) polishes. Extremely long post follows:

Note that I have *NOT* tried to finish-polish with the 1Z HG using a rotary; I know my limitations and I prefer using the Cyclo anyhow, so if you want 1Z HG via rotary opinions, see SuperBee364's thread.

Also, the only Menzerna stuff I've used was FPI; I preferred the (old version of) 1Z Pro Metallic Polish in side-by-side testing so the FPI has stayed on the shelf. But FWIW, the Denali was previously polished with Menzerna products (after aggressive correction via a Meg's compound), with the final work being done with 106FF. As much of the vehicle didn't really need polishing, I was able to do a *somewhat* decent comparison between Menzerna and 1Z in the way of before/after impressions.

The 1Z Intensive is just as good as Bence says is it :xyxthumbs It feels like liquid sandpaper but it breaks down quite nicely when used *with foam* using the Cyclo or PC. Via rotary with LC PFW I got a somewhat hazy finish (blame user-error for part of that); via rotary with Cyclo orange I got holograms (again, partially my error). Via Cyclo I got *almost* ready-to-wax with both orange and green pads (but yeah, it sure did improve after finish polishing).

Via PC with 3.5" LC PFW pads I got quite impressive correction, but also somewhat scary-looking hazing (easily recified up with a foam pad follow-up). This 3.5" PFW/1Z Intensive is the best PC-based RIDS solution I've ever tried. (Detailed thread soon to be posted.)

On a few areas, I ended up leaving the polish residue from the rotary work and just polishing over it with a *tiny* bit of fresh polish using the Cyclo (or in some places the PC). This worked great and saved some time and effort.

Via Cyclo, the orange pads do a fair bit of correction with the 1Z Intensive. The green pads did significantly *less* correction and I was somewhat surprised by how mild that combo was. The same pads on the PC were, BTW, more aggressive than they were on the Cyclo- yeah, the PC/4" is the more aggressive random orbital of the two. Again, with the foam pads the 1Z Intensive finishes out very well for an aggressive polish.

The 1Z Intensive works fine by hand too, but be careful how hard you bear down on it or you'll get some nasty "tracer"-style scratches from the initial bite that won't come out without a *LOT* of tricky work. This is the most aggressive stuff I've ever used by hand and it does take a bit of practice to use that way.

Removal seems to go OK as long as you don't overwork the product and/or use too much. If you use *way* too much it'll leave an oily film (as will most products) that I cleaned off with a spritz of #34.

It dusts like crazy, but the dust wipes off clean and isn't all *that* prone to causing micromarring (at least not on the medium-hard GM clear).

The 1Z High Gloss really is a finishing polish. It doesn't seem to have much corrective ability for me; perhaps it's because I didn't use it by rotary. Via Cyclo with green pads it'll take out *very* light marring with several passes; it'll remove light holograms with one or two depending on pressure and how bad the holograms are. I did have one hologrammed area (I suspect it was from the previous Menzerna work as I'd never touched that area before) that took *four* passes with significant pressure (shoulda just reached for the Intensive). The 1Z HG with green pads *really* sharpened up the already-decent 1Z Intensive's finish and *IMO* left a nicer finish than the Menzerna 106FF but *this was not a fair, direct comparison* so YMMV.

By hand, the 1Z HG has *VERY* little cut on either GM or Audi clear. More than, say 1Z MP, but not as much as 1Z PP (as best I can tell, didn't do a side-by-side). I dunno...I don't think I'd expect hologram removal by hand without a fair bit of work but it'd probably happen eventually.

Something I tried on the A8, but not on the Denali (hey, it's a huge, black dog-truck ;) ) was jeweling with the 1Z HG using the Cyclo and blue Sonus finishing pads. It really *did* leave an increible finish on the hard clear, sharpened up an already great finish and left that car looking better than it ever has before. (OK...I'm gonna jewel the Denali with 1Z Pro MP.)

Removal is either very easy or somewhat tough depending on how long you work it and how much product you use. I have a bit of a  as things went differently on the Denali and the A8...wonder if it was the difference between green Cylco polishing pads and blue Sonus finishing pads :nixweiss More likely the difference was between trying to be as aggressive as possible (with this mild product) on the Denali and being as *gentle* as possible on the harder Audi clear.

On the Denali, I had some areas where I had to rub a bit to get the polish residue off. I even used some #34 a few times so I wouldn't cause marring (probably not necessary). IMO I used a lot of product and then slightly overworked it. Good results, but maybe not quite the best approach.

On the A8, I used much less product and worked it until it almost disappeared- this was *VERY* easy to wipe off. When I tried this on the Denali I still had to work more to get it off :nixweiss Guess different paints behave differently.

Summary: these are the two best polishes I've tried recently and will probably work their way to the front of my product choices. Menzerna? Nah, no thanks..I'm happy with the 1Z.

Has anybody used 1z Final Finish? I have searched and have found reviews on the Hochglanz, but nothing on the proline Final Finish. Would like to find a cheap alternative to 106ff =]
