So last week I received my shipment of Menzerna IP, Final Polish (PO85U) and Micropolish (87MC). According to the chart on AG, PO85U has a cut of 3.0 and 87MC of 1, making 87MC less aggressive. However, the label on the bottle shows the arrow on the 87MC closer towards the aggressive side than PO85U. I called AG ask about this and they were unable to clarify for me. They checked the Menzerna website (which I did too), which resulted in even more confusion as they don't even show 87MC on their product list. So bottom line, do I believe the chart or the label on the bottle? Which one is more aggressive PO85U or 87MC? Menzerna labeling is confusing as hell. :think:

From what i've read and based my purchases on is that 87MC was a micro polish and didnt do much correcting. Since the FP has a cut of 3 and the 87MC a cut of 1, i'm going to say the FP.

Menzerna Final Polish PO 85U- a high concentrate polish that removes 2500 grit sanding scratches and burnishes the paint to a brilliant gloss.



Menzerna Micro Polish -PO 87MC uses a finely milled abrasive powder to eliminate haze, very light swirls, and holograms on all types of paint. Use as a finishing polish or a prewax polish.
 
If you have the means available you might want to try a test just to confirm the cut by using the exact same pad, machine and speed on a test panel and see what happens. I can't believe they'd be too much difference between the two products but should be enough to see with a moderately swirled test panel.



Then take a marker and move the "cut gauge" graphic on the bottle to where you think it should be. That way you can then see where it fits into your process.



The Menzerna product guide chart I've seen says that 87MC is also known as Final Polish II if that helps anybody. Unfortunately I've never used FPII.

i'd go with what the bottle said. try it for your self too.. use same kind of polishing pads and compare it side by side

That is what I thought per the chart which is posted above. However, the bottle reads otherwise. I hate all the Menzerna confusion :hairpull

As I understand it, SIP is for resistant clear coats, yet they both have the same cut. Does that mean that SIP is more aggressive than IP?
 
My own observations:



Micro Polish is an alternative to 106ff/85rd and can be used on softer paints, where as 106ff/85rd can be grabby on soft paints. On soft finicky blacks (my crucial tests), 87MC finished out better than 106/85.
