As a follow up to this thread - http://autopia.org/forum/car-detailing/102209-need-product-2-different-cars.html , I'm looking at my pad choice for the Menz ceramiclear twins. As stated, I will be working on a 10 year old silver BMW finish with one repainted panel, and a white E90.
Here's what I was thinking, to supplement my 8" edge system to be used via UDM and/or PC, and rotary where needed. Keep in mind that I have some deeper scratches that were not previously beaten by IP and Edge yellow via rotary.
The Edge 2000 6 Inch Black Heavy Cut Wool Buffing Pad
Foamed Wool 6.5 inch Polishing/Buffing Pads (x2)
6 inch Edge Yellow Wave Foam Pad
6 inch Edge Green Medium Cutting Edge Wave Foam Pad
6 inch Edge Orange Wave Foam Pad
The Edge Custom 6 Inch Blue/White Foam Pad (x2)
The thought was to use the black wool to attack the deeper scrathes w/SIP or a suggested heavier compound via rotary. Following that with SIP via Formed wool via UDM, then use whatever combination of the waved pads are needed w/SIP for the remaining defects. Was thinking of the wave pads in order to avoid heat build up at the higher UDM speeds.
I was then planning on using the white/blue flat pads to apply the 106FF to get LSP ready, then finish with ZAIO by hand or blue pad via UDM. Then Z2 and/or ZCS.
I know, the 10,000th "how does my planned process look" thread, but after serious searching, I couldn't find any recent advice on pad choice for these particular compounds/polishes.
TIA!
