Menzerna Q's

I've got an '07 VW GTI, black of course.

A couple months ago I was researching the whole

burnishing / jeweling thing over here and went with

some Menzerna 106fa with 4" LC blue pads on my

Cyclo to do the job.

I am very pleased with the results, especially now that

I've gotten a few coats of FK100P on it for winter.

However, you guys know how it is. Too much is never

enough when it comes to these sort of things. Lately I've

been reading that the Menz PO85RD is the absolute ultimate

way to go for jeweling a finish.

True ?? Is it significantly more noticeable a finish than the

106FA ? Or is it so incremental as to be not really worth

the extra money to purchase it ?

And, while I have you on the line, which is the better

mid-level polish? Intensive, or Super Intensive. ?

Thanks,

I REALLY like 85RD. But that's just me. It'll make a small difference, but nothing massive, just a small increase in gloss. And P203S(Power Finish) is the best middle polish IMO, I like it over IP and SIP.

I use 106 and have a hard time believing that 85rd would make much of an improvement compared to what I am getting now.

I just finished up with some 106 today, and I still love the stuff!

Started with SIP, and I really, really still love that stuff too! :2thumbs:

After SIP or 106FA.. I go to 85RD and then jewel with Ultrafina on a blue Ultrafina pad with a rotary at 1800rpm. There is a very noticable difference when using 85rd and a slight improvement using the Ultrafina. If you want the ultimate shine you will need to go through these steps.

Or i would polish with a glaze like Chem Guys EZ Creme, that will add some pop to the paint

Exactly. Use 203 for defect removal if they are mild to minor, then 85rd to finish out, then EZ Creme Glaze to clean the paint and add even more gloss, then top with your FK1000. Your paint would be on a different level.

I just did my wife's car, a black Hyundai. I used IP, followed up with 85rd and it finished down near flawlessly. I then finished up with the Chemical Guys EZ creme Glaze, BlackFire Wet Diamond and Chemical Guys Butter Wet Wax...and wow! It looks like it is sill dripping wet from the wash.

I should add that after 106, I followed with DWG, then the LSP.

DWG did help the paint look even wetter.
