Menzerna Products?

Hey all,

I am going to try some new products; Menzerna PG, IP, and FPII, I would like any pointers you might have. I have a PC, and Rotary. Meguiars pads, 6's and 8's. How about some tips and tricks for someone who has never used these procucts.

TIA

Mark

They are my go to polishes.

I use each via rotary @1500 rpm with LC concaved pads. IP and FP2 used with polishing pads and PG with cutting pads. IP with polishing sometimes can be good enough to go straight to an LSP and FP2 with polishing is definately good to go right to an LSP.

They work great with a rotary, work them until they flash (disappear). IP with the rotary is pretty aggressive so i rarerly break out the PG. I usually finish off with the PC and a megs yellow or biege pad and FP2.

Hey Mark,

Sorry that the steroid scandal found it's way to you I like the way you play baseball, lol. Best tip is to spritz the pad with water, they are water based polishes so water extends the polish. I use the edge of the pad only, this way I get no wobble or hologramming. Even if you do FPII will erase any hollogramming so it's not that big of deal, but I'm like GR sometimes I go from IP to sealant. Because I only use the 4 inches of the edge of the pad, I apply my polish to the edge of the pad and spread it around, a little goes a long way. Work the polish until it breaks down and the smaller the section the better the results. Even use auto tape to tape off sections, when you finish a section just move the tap over an inch, you'd be suprised how helpful tap can be when polishing. Blue painters tap will work too, but of course don't use straight masking tape. Do a search there are many many detailed posts about menzerna polishes. When searching use menzerna or FPII because powergloss isn't that popular and you can't use IP to search because it's only two letters.

Thanks guys, I tried the IP and the FPII this weekend on a section of my hood. Spraying the pad with water sounds good, they seemed to dry up on me. The tape is a good idea too. I have a white truck and its hard to tell where you've been. Oh and Burlyq, I'm the 54 year old construction worker Mark McGuire, not the young Mark McGwire baseball player.;) ;)

Hey Mark,

As Sean said, they are my go to polishes. I recently found their ceramiclear line of polishes. Since then I have sold all of my polishes for the Menzerna line, especially their ceramiclear line. They are supposed to used w/rotary, but I have had nothing but great luck with my PC. I've never had a problem with them drying up on me, I am able to polish until I'm ready to wipe off!:D

Ive found with FP, finishing pad and rotary, use quite a bit, keep the pad flat and press down abit on the pad so that you are not buffing off the product but working it wet. Add a spray of water if is flashing to quick and remove it while its wet.

I use this as a last step with white Edge2k pads before AIO or sealents and this greatly reduced holograms and removes any maring in the paint from previous buffing steps, especially good on single stage dark pants.
