Menzerna Paint Correction + Werkstat Protection?

I am taking possession of a new (to me) 2009 135i in the next week or two and I want to start off by correcting any minor paint defects and then putting something on it to help protect the paint (as I drive a lot).



I did a bit of research (albeit anecdotal in the form of click-and-brag type threads) and it seems that the Menzerna products are the ones most choose for BMW paint. I was planning to buy PO85RD and PO106FA to take out any light to moderate swirls.



Then I was planning to use Werkstat acrylic products to protect the finish.



First, is there any reason I can't mix these products? And second, do I need to apply the Werkstat Prime before moving to the next step or will the PO106FA fill that need?



If the Werkstat is the wrong way to go, what are some good options for protecting my paint given fairly extensive miles put on the car every week?

well i know scottwax likes to seal with Opti-seal or something like that--hope that helps...for me minor corrections i'd do with m205... but to each his own

You might want to consider 203S and 85RD. IIRC, Scott used to use Werkstat (maybe he still does?). Seems it had quite a following for a while.

I think you'd need to use Prime regardless of what you use as it creates the base for the system.

Thanks. I am not always sure how to go about selecting a polish/finish combo. Two steps is definitely better than 3 if you think I'll get similar results.
