Menzerna or PBs SSR 2.5 for removing swirls?

Which 3M you using? I have IP and FPII, IP is a little milder than say 3m PI-III RC but FPII is a favorite of mine, it leaves the paint very very glossy. Also , what are you using them with, a PC?

i only have experience with SSR2.5

here's a picture of it removing swirls from half the door.

PC with a cutting pad, speed 5-6. it did leave some hazing behind that i had to clean up with SSR 1. yet other times it was good enough to go to my LSP. hope this helps. :)

I did a black Lightning on Labor Day weekend and had purchsed SSR 2.5 for the job. I did half the hood with 2.5 and a Makita and the other half using Menzerna Power Gloss and a Makita. The hood was heavily swirled, more or less the same on both sides. Both sides were done using the same pattern, same pressure, same RPM and same kind of pad, both clean at the start.

The PG side was noticible brighter, more reflective and contained less swirl marks. The rest of the job was done using the PG, except where tight curves were better handled using a PC, then it was 1Z Ultra.

Menzerna Intensive Polish (IP) is awesome stuff! Use it with an orange power pad -set your PC between 5-6, and work your area SLOW until the product starts to break down (usually 3-4 min. does the trick on a 3x3' area). You may have to go over some areas a few times -but it's worth the effort! IP will REMOVE (not fill) defects via the PC. I've never had any luck with DACP using the PC either, but on the rotary it works well. Anyway, follow up the Intensive Polish with Final Polish II. You will be stunned when you see the results on dark colors. Honestly, I've tried out A LOT of product/pad combos via the PC to remove defects, and the menzerna IP/orange power pad combo win hands down.

Hummm...in my experience the Menzerna IP is not nearly as user friendly as the Poorboys 2.5 and the 2.5 is my go to polish as a result.

Maybe my menzerna results were scewed by the fact that I first tried to use it on my Audi which I now realize nothing works "well" on...but I still had problems with product removal with the Menzerna IP. Maybe I need to give it another shot to give a full opinion.

What I do know is that I love 2.5..very easy to use for me....and I believe that IP is less agressive than 2.5 and DACP....so it might not do the trick for you either.

I'll try out my Menzerna IP this weekend in order to give it a fair shake...but my vote goes to the SSR2.5

I have dacp, ssr2.5 and ip/fpII.

if I had time with the PC I'd take ip but since I don't I use ssr2.5.

once I have my rotary all 3 will be used often. I have seen what these 3 polishes can do.

I've used IP with a rotary and it's quite effective. I've also used DACP with a rotary. However IP beats DACP hands down on more swirled/oxidized finishes.
