Menzerna, how often ?

Yo guys, i was wondering how often can you use menzerna twins. i know the final polish is not too bad but since the IP is abrasive, how often can you use it. My car is a daily driver which means it gets washed = swirl marks after a while. I have used the twins followed by wolfgang 2 times since may. Too much ?? i was talking to a friend of mine who uses zaino who has a black Z/28 with some swirls. i told him i would use the twins to get them out and then he could zaino over it. but he was iffy on using abrasives on his paint. that got me thinking. comments and suggestions :D

I wouldn't use IP any more than necessary. Sounds like you need to re-evaluate your washing and drying procedure. You can use IP many times with no problems but there's no reason to push it. I would polish about twice a year.

Unless your using a rotary buffer your probably not going to abrade too much paint. FP should be more than enough to remove swirls. I wouldn't really use it more than every 3 months and that might be a little much.

Try the Finishing touch glaze, it's absolutely awsome.

gav,

I see a question rising not so much in the use of IP, as it is very mild (don't let the word "intensive" fool you), but rather in your use of a yellow pad. If this is the LC yellow pad then it is far too aggressive.

Use the white polishing pad with the IP and then the FP with the black or blue finishing pads.

As far as a microfiber towel for drying, try the MF chamois by Top of the Line.

As far as the Wafle weave MF, Check out the Big Blue from CMA. They have a great deal for 2 of them.

Anthony,

How would you rate the abrasive level of IP compared to #9 or 3M Finesse-It II Machine Polish? Currently I have FPII on the way as my #9 replacement, but I don't know if that is an accurate assumption.

I currently use the 3M for tougher swirls, and #9 for cleanup.

#9 is more of a glaze than a polish, it has minor abrasives but more fillers. IP is a pure polish (no fillers) more comparable to DACP, when used with a rotary it removes most defects. FPII is also a pure polish and will remove light swirling and marring, definitly could be a replacement for #9.
