Menz. FPII Application?

J.J.

DEEP & WET
Are there any good secrets or "need to know" facts about the application of FPII via rotary. Through my search so far, I've come up with:

1. Green pad @ 1500 rpm on light to moderatly swirled paint produces a hologram free finish.

Anything else I should know like workability, breakdown time, pad prep. or amount of product to use? This will be my first experience with Menz products on black paint and I want it t be a good one. I will be workingon this:

Well, I used FPII for the first time today via rotary and found that it was difficult to determine the flash point. I guess I need more practice but I definitely found it a challenge. After a pass with the green pad, heavy swriling remained. I moved up to and orange pad and the majority of the swirls cam off, but I was left with some very slight haziness. I will go over that tomorrow with the green pad and chack my results. I also felt I was uding too much product.

Should I expect to use 2 oz per vehicle like the SSRs or more?

I'm still accepting free advice BTW. No interest the first round!

I used Menzerna P085RD yesterday and it made my car look incredible. Just like it had rolled out of a clearcoat painting booth. I did not want to put anything on it it was clean, deep, and shiney.

Your paints sounds like it looks great! :waxing:

Can you describe *exactly* how you used it in *detail*.

Like how much you put on the pad the *first time* and *subsequent* times. How did you apply. Please let us know any tips or tricks that you discovered.

I also bought P085RD but I haven't found it as successful. I was using a rotary. Hopefully I can master though. thanx for the help! :bestwish :bigups

My car is only a year old. Had Zaino on there but wanted to try something different. I am no pro! but here goes... Used a DA with a orange or medium cutting pad. Placed 4 drops on the pad. Did 1/2 roof just using overlapping motions. I did not want to cut to much into the finish just wanted to remove old wax, then I would wipe with MF towel until finish was clean. Not hard to remove at all. Continued to use 4 tiny drops on pad size of a pencil head on each section. 1/2 hood, 1 door, etc. Worked great for me. Did not use any pressure let the polish do the work. The finish was squeky clean. Looked great. That is how I used it, there may be a better way. I did not have any swirl marks so I was able to move pretty quickly. Hope this helps, a little more buffing with the product may be need if you have a lot of swirls. Use a quick detailer after to remove any residue. Then apply your favorite wax or sealant. Good luck...

I spent the majority of my time using the EO WW&S removing residue. The shine was great, but I simply hope I can figure out the flash point tomorrow. Maybe Sean will stop in with some tips. I believe he uses FPII pretty frequently with his rotary.
