hi guys. i just got this wax. i was wondering if you guys have any tips for me on getting the best results from this wax. thanks.

-alex :)

Is it numbered? #19 is the cleaner wax, #16 is the paste wax, and #26 is the Hi Tech wax. Which one do you have?

FWIW, the #16 and #19 did not do very well in the Wax Test. #26 did pretty good, though.

Trippy, bret. On the home page, you hadn't responded yet. Ten seconds later, there you are.

Well, if you're talking about #26, this is what I used to do: Apply it to the entire car and buff it all off. Comes out pretty nicely.

is there any prep work i need to do before i apply it ?

thanks guys

Prep work depends on the condition of you paint. Even if your paint looks good, if it has been more than 6 months since you last polished, at least use a glaze prior to using #26. Like Polaris said, apply to the entire car, then buff off. It leaves a very nice shine.

sweet thanks guys ! my car is pretty new clayed about 6 months ago. my neighbor told me to wax be sections ie: doors then hoods, then bumpers etc etc... what do you guys think ? thanks :D

#26 is a good product, but for me, it didnt' last longer than 4 washes b4 starting to lose its beading power. Right now im experimenting with klasse aio and bf2 on my car.

Wax the entire car using thin coats, then go back over the car with a microfiber towel and remove the excess.

If it's been six months since you've done anything, you might want to go over your car first with Swirl Remover #9 or Show Car Glaze #7 before waxing for the best results.

I don't see why not.

I used the #26 for years also, it has a great shine and if other products are hard to find it is a great product that you can get locally.

From what I understand then, #26 won't dry rock hard by the time you're ready to buff the excess off right? I one time waxed the car entirely with another kind of wax, and when I came back to buff it off it was so difficult that I ended up wasting a bottle of QD to get it off!

The Meguiar's #26 paste dries to an almost clear/slightly tinted haze for me. I apply to the whole car and let it sit for 30 minutes or so.

some waxes can be a real work out but #26 is not that hard to buff off. Blitz, Souveran, P21S, are easier but its nothing like leaving Turtle Wax hard shell to dry on paint....

#26 doesn't dry rock hard, well hasn't dried rock hard on me yet :p
