Has anyone ever had a BAD experience with Hot Rims Chrome wheel cleaner or the All Whee Cleaner?

I use to have a car with steel wheels and they started rusting when the car was just years old. I contribute that to using the All Wheel cleaner but could be wrong.

Before I use what I have left on my brand new car, with aluminum wheels, I want some more opinions of these products.

Thanks :D:D

I wouldn't use them. They do cause more of a problem on rims and brake assy parts later down the road. I would use P21S wheel cleaner all my rims.

That hot rims is an acid based cleaner and can cause more harm in the long run than good..Best thing to do with it, is cut it to 4 to 1 with water...it will still clean very well and not be so harsh on the finish..also on clear coated wells it will stain the clear...meaning you will have to polish them out....the cut version will not

I have never had any trouble with it on my wheels. But then again i apply it brush it and immediately rinse I never let any wheel cleaner sit on my wheels.

I have not used either of the products you mentioned, but......
With a new car, just keep a good coat of sealant/wax on them, (Sealant is usually recommended, but I have never had a problem using a wax. I just use whatever product I'm using on the paint for the wheels), and you should be able to clean them with whatever wash product you use on the rest of the car. Same way with washing. Separate wash bucket and wash media to keep from getting brake dust on the paint, but the same product and dilution ratio.
FWIW, I have never felt the need for a special wheel cleaner and don't use one on any of the vehicles I own.
