has anyone used the combo of Ultimate compound with ultimate polish using a porter cable?

Id love to see some results as Ive bought the UP to add to my polishing supplies as well as having M105, mothers cleaner wax/polish, PB ssr 2.5, PB polish, menzerna finish glaze, and i also have megs swirlX scratchX 2.0 .

i would think that something like UC+UP+NXT2.0 would be a solid foundation for a three step process ! similar to M105-205 ?

Ryan, I haven't used that particular product line-up in sequence, although I have used both products multiple times. Ultimate Polish uses similar abrasive technology to M205, but is less aggressive and has more polishing 'oils'. So while it can correct very fine hazing from a DA, it really doesn't have the power to rip out any serious defects.

The finish left behind by Ultimate Compound is ultimately going to decide whether you can go straight to Ultimate Polish. If you have moderate hazing you might be better served to make another pass with Ultimate Compound and a softer pad or SwirlX, just to refine the paint a step further.

Meguiar's has really brought professional results to their consumer line!

Is ultimate polish as agressive as a typical paint work cleanser, also are you still a big fan of p21s100%?

Hey guys, I'm a weekend warrier at detailing and have been asked by a friend to rid her Ford Edge of 2 years of car wash swirls. I have the PC 7424 and the lake country pads. I don't know how hard the paint is and don't want to go around the car multiple times. My question is what product should I use, I've used UC but this might not be arressive enought with a lake county orange pad or maybe the yellow pad? In your concidered opinion would I be better off with Meg's 205, and the orange pad then finsh with an LSP? Any comments or assistance would be greatly appriciated.

For a one step the 205 with a white pad might just do it.

me personaly on my single stage white paint i use the UC on the wool then go to mirror glaze #9 swirl remover on my yellow sm arnold pad then follow it up with UP on the black sm arnold pad..seems to work pretty good for my hard paint..
