Meguiar's QD over Klasse/ Blitz

I was wondering it if is okay to use Meguiar's QD when touching up my car if I have layers of Klasse (and maybe even Blitz) on my car. I have three bottles of this stuff and would hate to throw it away. I currently use Meguiar's QD over just Blitz, but I've never used Klasse - didn't know if anything would react funny with it or not.

You can use it over Klasse. The Red bottle of Meguiars QD contains silicone, so I would not use it right before you are going to add a layer of Klasse. The silicone might not allow the Klasse to bond properly. But other than that, it is fine to use over Klasse or Blitz.

I am still a bit confused by silicone. I did a quick search on it, but nothing really answered my question.

Is this stuff bad? My mother told me to never get a wax that had silicone in it, when she had a bottle of Meguiar's #26 sitting right there! :D

Anyway, should I not be using these products? Also, how will I know they are in there - is it always disclosed on the label? And if I order something on the Internet that I can't buy in a store (Klasse, Zaino, etc.), will I be able to find ingredients on the web?

Based upon what I've learned here, Silicone isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be (or so I think). The only place I'd be concerned using silicone is in a paint shop, as if it is exposed to fresh paint it can cause defects, such as fish eyes, etc. If you get it on your wax applicators, it will cause the wax to streak the next time you use it to apply wax. But other than that I really don't think its a super bad thing, although there are better alternatives out there, such as FI.

But otherwise, for your daily QDings, i dont think you'll have a problem with it.

....like the stuff found in most carnubas and tire dressings is the bad stuff. It is very bad for fiberglass body panels found on cars like vettes. More, if you ever need paint work, it is a body shops nightmare as it inhibits proper paint bonding and is very hard to remove completely. An experienced body shop should be able to prep the car properly, but if you go to one of those maco paint shops, be prepared for a crappy paint job.

Aside from that, this oil tends to leave a greasy shine that attracts dust and dirt like crazy, which can lead to swirl marks.

There are silicone free products out there. If you feel you have to use one of them, I would think twice.......

Until recently, I had 5 layers of Klasse SG on my car. I often used Meguiar's Final Inspection, One Grand Show Off, Eiman Fabrik Clear Pearl, Wizzards Mist n Shine, Zaino quick detailer, and the Eagle One quick detailer. The good news is that they will all work well over your existing Klasse coat or coats. So don't worry. Laters.
