Meguiars NXT spray wax after Final Polish

Hello all,

As stated in the title I wanted to know if it was ok use as part of the "Sealant/Wax" step?

As I'm gathering the supplies for my first detail I have this bottle which hopefully won't go to waste if I have to buy another type of sealant/synthetic wax.

From the information i've gathered on the Meguiar's forum is that it's a "Booster Wax" so it's used to just touch-up(for lack of a better term) to the existing wax job.

BTW - My plans for an LSP is to use Natty's Blue

Thanks everyone for the info and advice!

I've only used it as stated on the Meguiar's forum which is in the form of a "booster" wax. While I can't speak directly to the formulation differences between the paste, liquid and spray versions of NXT, my experience with the spray wax makes me believe that it is not sufficient on its own to work as the "sealant/wax" step. Why not use Poorboy's EX and then top with Natty's blue?

Thanks Matrix for the reply! That's what I was afraid of hear but oh well...It gives me an excuse to find another sealant like what you've suggessted. Thanks again.

Yeah, I can vouch for the NXT Spray Wax's lack of durability. I purchased a bottle a few months ago. My first application was easy to do and I was pleased with the results ... I hosed down my car the next day and it sheeted like crazy. But the durability only lasted about a week.

I totally agree....I washed and waxed last week using the spray and as murphy's law would have it...it started raining...the next day when I went to do a quick wash i noticed the paint wasn't slick anymore like the day before...I guess all the rain washed the wax off...hahahah...

MatrixXRS: I agree with NTX lack of durability I just switched to EX-P and Nattys Reg & Blue and have been impressed 30 and 60 days after. On my fience's bright white GrandAm gt NXT looked great for about 3 weeks and then went flat while still protecting. EX-P and Nattys looks better 60 days on than NXT did after just 1 week.

NXT Tech Wax isn't known for its durability, so if it were me, there would be no way I would trust just having the NXT Spray Booster as my LSP. I have both, but I never really found where the NXT Spray Booster fit in because it took just as long to apply as the actual NXT Tech Wax itself.

If you don't want to spend any money on another sealant or wax, I would rather just have the NB bonding to a clean surface by itself rather than on top of something that's not even durable to begin with.

Thanks for your advice guys! You are really helping a newbie out!

BTW - I forgot to ask what is the curing time for PB's EX-P sealant? Do you know of any sealants that have short curing times? My car's a daily driver so unfortunately it's hard for me to keep in the garage for a while. Thank again for the info!
