Meguiar's MF system backing plate for Flex?

Did anyone need to get some kind of conversion piece for it to fit on the flex? or is it not flex compatible?



after I took off the flex backing plate I saw that the housing for the flex doesn't seem to be compatible for the MF backing plate from meg's...anyone have a solution for this?
 
The stock Flex backing plate is acceptable to use with the 6" MF pads.



That said, I've not had much luck with the MF system and the Flex -- it works far better on an non-forced rotation tool.
 
I know that it works with the flex, but it appears to generate a lot of heat. I was thinking those holes that are in the meg's backing plate should help keep air circulating and keep the pads cooler...



More and more i'm thinking maybe I'll go ahead and pull the trigger on a griot's da =x
