Meguiar's Keeps Me Coming Back

Mmmph

Mad Detailer
It was a warm day today with low humidity...so it was time to work on my RX 300 before the cold weather hits hard. I recently purchased the Meguiar's October online special. It came with #00, #36, #40, MPPP and a couple of yellow foam applicators.

My last detail was AIO and S100...While looking through my supplies, I decided on a game plan.

#36 - My first use...This is a fine product. I've been using Eagle One A2Z, and will stick with it because I can get it anytime. #36 worked as well though, leaving my wheels clean and shiny.

Endurance - My usual great results...Satin black!

#00 - My first use...This stuff is the bomb! Unlike Gold Class wash (which sheets) #00 leaves the paint (with AIO) squeaky clean and beading water

#82 - My first use..I really didn't need this on most of the car, but I enjoyed using it. I last polished with 3MPIII MG in August, and the 82 brought that refined look back to my Black Onyx (202) finish. I'm sure it ate through the AIO, as the white CMA pad came up black...but I was about to apply MPPP!

MPPP - First use here, too. I like this a lot. Easy on and off with no streaking. Crisp reflections, and slick finish. I applied a second layer an hour after buffing off the first. Last winter I used EX, and it held up well with a couple of S100 applications through the cold weather. I'm hoping for similar durability with MPPP. I must say, it sure is easier to apply and remove than EX.

#26 (Paste) - My old standard...I opened the jar and that banana smell just got to me again. I realized that hadn't used #26 in over two years. I applied it and removed it just like the old days. I had to add this as a topper...Bee-yoo-tee-ful!

I've purchased so many different products (from several manufacturers), especially since finding Autopia, but Meguiar's products provide the same consistently satisfying, beautifully durable results without fail.

Hats off to Meguiar's :D

got any pictures of the Bee-yoo-tee-ful-ness? sounds like a good time! Send some of that warm weather this way will ya?

Mmmph,

I agree with you on the Meguiar's line. They have a really solid offering in almost every category (cleaner, polish, wax, degreaser, etc.), and are typically very readily available. I've been using so much that I've taken to buying some of their line by the gallon (#82, #26, #34 to name just a few). Here's a shot of the trunklid of my '01 Duratec Taurus, after a session of #82/#20/#26. It really brought out the Harvest Gold Metallic paint.....my hats off to Meguiar's as well!

Now, if I could just do something about their trainers not returning my emails to let me know when the next training seminar is.....:)

I used Meguiars products exclusively in my detailing business for about 8 years, then I discovered Autopia and have begun to incorporate other product lines into my regiment. I still use DACP and SFP on every car that needs more than a glaze and wax and I do have some #26 that I like to use on non metallic red cars...just something about the glow it gives that color. :up

I didn't post pics this time, because I just wanted to talk about Meguiar's. I'm with Scott on this in that I'd used Meg's exclusively through the 90's and until I found Autopia. I've purchased and experimented with plenty of great products since joining here. I enjoy them and use them regularly, with only a couple of exceptions.

Meg's consistent quality throughout their Mirror Glaze line is IMHO impressive...Every time.

edschwab, #82 is more like #9 than PIII. Less bite, but plenty of shine. My paint was in good shape. I had purchased the #82 6 months earlier, just before I bought PIII. I never got to try it until today. It just refreshed my paint, providing the POP that I love.

If I was going after swirls, I'd pull out the PIII. It is amazing!

I still want to try:

#83 DACP

#51 Final Detail

#39 Heavy Duty Vinyl Cleaner

APC+

Next year!

MPPP is the unsung beauty of the Meguiar's line. I've had half a dozen friends in my car club get the Oct special, and we all love that stuff.

I usually wax every couple weeks. It's been 3 weeks now. Yesterday I washed, pulled into the garage and dried, looked at the car, smiled, and turned off the lights. It was just fine the way it was.
