Meguiar's G110 vs PC 7424XP

Which one do you think is better and I should get?



ADS offers a package of G110 for $169 and you can get:

- Meguiar's G110 Polisher with 1-year factory warranty

- One Meguiar's W67DA Velcro backing plate

- Two Meguiar's W8207 Foam Polishing Pad

- One Meguiar's W9207 Foam Finishing Pad

Autogeek will sell PC 7424XP soon and the price is not available yet so I guess no package for it. Estimated cost of this new PC is around $130



Consideration Point:

- Many G110 is broken but people said the new production should solve this problem and it should be fine now.

- PC 7424XP has more power of 300 rpm above G110, but above 5500 rpm (If I'm not mistaken and I think I read it somewhere from Meguiar's) is not safe/recommended. So that additional 300 rpm is kinda useless.

- I prefer to get it as soon as possible but if PC 7424XP is worth to wait, i will wait for it.



What do you guys think?
 
Here is my take on the new DA's...



Yes, the G110 had some early problems, but they seemed to be solved. I have tried it and really like the extra power.



The 7424XP sounds like a great machine. My 7336 has been working perfectly since I bought it a few years ago. If the quality of the 7424 carries over to the 7424XP, that would be awesome. But, the 7424XP has not been released and we don't know how reliable it will be.



My opinion would be to wait and see how the 7424XP performs and go from there.
 
I agree with Porscheguy... I have a G110 that I use along with my Makita fairly regularly and I haven't had a single problem in over a year.



My only other advice is to stay away from kits and do some research... the 7" pads that come in that G110 kit are too big for the G110 to do the work it can do... look at 6.5" pads max, preferably 5.5" though.
 
Well, maybe this is a conspiracy theory, but I expect the new PC to be made in China, quite possibly in the same plant as the G110. One interesting thing I noted in the 7424XP blurb was "improved switch design for greater durability". Since when was there ever a problem with the switch on a PC? The only machines that had switch problems AFAIK were the original UDM and the G110.



Anyway, my point is I'm not sure there's going to be a whole lot of difference between the G110 and the new PC.
 
I like the look of the new PC with the rubberized looking grip on the head. I don't use the handle on my current PC so this would be nice.
 
Oh yeah, I kind of like the bail handle idea on the G110. Anybody who's used it have an opinion on that vs. the PC side handle?



EDIT: Wow, that toolsplus.com has both the original 7424 and the 7424XP for $109 and $6.50 shipping...I guess this is the new place to advise when people ask "where's the cheapest place to get a PC?"
 
If you could afford it, I'd get a Flex 3401. It is a awesome machine. I know it is a lot more in price but over the long haul it would be worth it.
 
Id reccomend the G110. I have it, enjoyedit and havent had any problems whatsoever. I like the handle on it moreso than some of the others.

Doesn't matter, I took the handles off both. Don't have one on my rotary either. I feel I have more control over the machine with my hand directly over the head.

Just to help out with a couple things, one we price match so you find the 7424xp cheaper let us know we will match it.

Second thing is we have a pre-sale on the 7424xp, does not cost anything to get on the list and you are not obligated to buy it but it does mean you will be one of the first ones offered the machine.
