Any opinions, i currently use Final inspection but its costing me £28 per gallon plus postage ( 44 dollars!) here in the Uk. But i can get Final detail for £16 per gallon ($25) both expensive i know but waht should i do! I can get the small bottles or there consuner qd in the burgandy bottle for the equilent of 8 dollars.

Has any body used final detail??? I love F.I. hate hate there normal quik detailer.

Final Inspection has long been a forum favorite. The only problem I have with Final Detail is that there is some carnauba in the spray. That doesn't work if you are into layering sealants. However, because of the carnauba content, it would definatly give your car a little extra oooomph in the appearance department.

My Meguiar's catalog is on loan right now, but I don't think the Final Detail is paint shop friendly. That usually means silicone content. Not necessarily a bad thing unless you are painting. You might want to check prices if it is possible. There is only about $4 per gallon difference in the U.S. Your price is $19 higher if I read your post correctly. $44 for FI, $25 for FD. Are both prices including shipping? Maybe your distributor made an error.

Cheers

The price is correct the F.i is direct from meguairs uk, they say its cos they have to ship it over can only order a minimum 300 quid order of it in. I have to pay carrige on top of the quoted price. It is so expensive. Thats why i may need to go for the final detail to save some cash. I have already brought 3 gallons of the stuff at that price, cant keep doing it!!!!!!!! Might as well fly over and pick it up me self!

I am trying the only two other meguars supplier in the uk to see if they can help. One of them are the company that lists final detail, i have asked weater they can get the F.I. What prices do the F.I and final detail retail over there in the U.s to you guys?

It seems to vary between $19 and $23 for Final Inspection. I have never purchased Final Detail, But I have seen it priced as low as $15 here. It just seemed like too much of a price difference between the two from your distributor.

And I thought $23 was high for FI.

The prices for F.I and final detail were from different people, F.i is direct for meguiars uk. but the final deatail is from a detailing supplier, they dont list F.I but i have emailed to see if they can supply. Havent dared contacet Meguirs uk to see what crazy price they will quote me for final deatail! I am ging to see the two other suppliers of meguiars products in the uk can get the stuff and beat meguiars own prices!!!!!

Rich,

Why not contact www.frost.co.uk and ask them if they can get hold of the One Grand show off spray?

I have not been able to find final detail in my catalog. I only find Quik detailer & final inspection .

The One Grand Show Off proposal is a great idea. I second it!

With regard to the Meguiar's products, if that much of a price difference, I'd go with the Final Detail. As Jngr said, you won't be able to layer sealants any more if you use a carnuba-based QD spray, but if you are like many people only layer them every six months or so, that's no problem. I prefer carnuba-based QD sprays becuase they do give the finish an extra "pop." They also seem to make a coat of carnuba wax last longer. As for the silicone thing, I don't think that is a big deal. It only comes into play in the event that your car is repainted- and hopefully it won't be! Also, body shops have solvents that can strip off all of the silicone, so if you tell them you have been using silicone based-products, they'll be prepared.

You most likely have the consumer catalog. The Professional line catalog has a lot of items that are not included in that one.
