Meguiar’s cleaning kit from Mercedes?

They gave me this kit when I bought my Benz. It says it's specially formulated for my cars paint. :rolleyes: There is a Paint Cleaner product (to clean and help remove swirls and scrathes) and a Paint Care (which polishes and protects in one step).



Are these products the same as Meguiar’s MPPC and MPPP or Meguiar’s No. 6 Cleaner/wax?



I'm planning on applying Zaino once the NJ drought restrictions are gone. I was going to buy PPCL to use after claying. Should I just use the Paint Cleaner product or are there better things out there?

According to my MB dealer, they're virtually identical to the MPPC and MPPP -- just loaded into a different container.

I'd love to know how some dealer knows what exact product Meguiar's packages for MB.



I'd ask Meguiar's this question since they cut the deal with MB and know exactly what formulation is in the bottle. Anything else from anybody else is a 100% guess.
 
It is the same stuff you can buy in the store, it just comes in a nice small bottle with the mercedes emblem emblazed on it. The kit was given with my car.

I don't know how they know, but it seems to me they'd have some financial interest in having me buy the MB products from their parts department, instead of telling me to save my money and buy the Meguiar's instead.



Doesn't matter one way or the other to me anyway, since I use stuff I've seen y'all recommend to clean and wax my MB, and not the MB products. :xyxthumbs
 
Amen to that brother! I used Zaino for the first time last weekend and I almost lost all bodily control....the stuff is amazing. ('02 Saloon 55 AMG)
 
It's bordeaux with cream interior. It took me awhile to get it b/c it had to come from Cali. I used the Z5 and Z2 combo with the ZFX. These are pics that I posted on a different thread awhile back on how to get rid of swirls.....a thanks to Zaino they are long gone.:xyxthumbs
 
I can't post them. Frankly, call me old school, but some of these computer things are way over my head. :confused:
 
This is what I was told "The products in the MB line are completely different than any of our other products. Those products are made by Meguiar's and were formulated specifically for MB paints"



I even asked what they would compare it to based on similarities and they said there is nothing to compare it to. Not very helpful to say the least.
 
nubomb....there trying to pull an old marketing trick on us...it's called the old bait and switch. Little do they know there dealing with Autopians! :xyxthumbs
