Megs Polishes than what Glaze?

OK normally I am not a fan of glazes but my 2004 F150 (black) came complete with a hammered finish. I got a great deal and I know it needs a re-paint but my daughter is now a month old so no money for the foreseeable future here is my thoughts (no pics because I am at work) Megs UC on a green pad to knock down most of the swirls and then follow with a glaze or wax with fillers in it what would you guys suggest. I am trying to create a 8 foot truck (looks great from 8 feet away). I cannot see any cracking in the clear but I have learned the hard way some finishes are not going to be perfect and I think this is one of them.

I've yet to find something that fills for a while. SRP didn't do it for me, neither did DWG. I've had much better luck using a quick detailer after every wash that is filler rich.

For a quick see-how-it-works that won't break the bank, you might see if you can find these locally:

Meguiar's M09 Swirlmark Remover, followed by either Meg's M07 or Deep Crystal Step#2 Polish, topped with NXT.

There might be some newer things that'll work better, but that's what comes to my mind.

Ah, which QDs qualify in that regard?

Meg's old school in the maroon bottle was good, NXT QD as well, but right now the one for me to beat is 3D Final Touch. Ben hooked me up with a spray bottle and I ended up buying a gallon.

yakky- huh, the 3D FT does some light concealing? Is it nice and slick? Is it Accumulator-proof or do you have to watch out for streaking/etc.?

Its got Polydimethylsiloxane, aka silicone, so yes, it fills, shines and is nice and slick. I'm the wrong person to ask about streaking as I don't have streaking issues with any modern QD's. I think if you twisted Ben's arm, you might get a free sample.

From personal experience, I can say that the new Megs Ultimate Polish would work great. It seems to combine the polishing characteristics of #205 and a glaze (oil-rich). It allowed me to forego my usual #205/#7 glaze step. Of course, if you want a real "pop" to the finish, try Chemical Guys EZ Glaze or Danase Wet Glaze.
