Megs PlastX and baby Dynabrade

I've had this Dynabrade 3" rotary for over 20 years; it's been very handy for spot paint repairs and polishing small objects. It originally came as a kit with the velcro head and some terry and wool bonnets. Also included was an orbital attachment with a 1 inch head as well as a 5/8" head and an assortment of 3M peel and stick circles in both sizes in 1000 grit and 2000 grit. It's an air hog, but works very well.

Today I tried it out on Wifey's headlights (or more precisely, Wifey's car's headlights). My pics aren't great, but in real life it did a nice job of brightening up the slightly fogged lenses.

Cool, I always like to see people sticking with old machines like that :xyxthumbs The headlights sure did come out nice.

When you say "air hog", what does it take to run that thing?

Sweet! Great job on the lights.

Dang, been dying to pick up one of those little guys but my little compressor doesn’t have the guts to run it. Hmmm, a buddy of mine just got a new compressor…

PC.

I couldn't say just how much flow; it's probably on the spec and repair sheet, but I'd hafta go digging. My compressor is a 5hp 80gal and will run about half time if I keep the buffer running full time at full speed at 65psi. However, it can still do a nice job in many cases running at a much slower speed; even at 500 rpm it beats what I can do with my hand.

OK, no need to dig up the manual, that gets me in the right ballpark. The little RO attachment is cool!
