Meg’s Hybrid Ceramic Spray Wax DRY Application

Is anyone using Megs Hybrid Ceramic Spray “off label” as a straight spray wax?
I am, and the look and beading are great. However, this stuff sprays out thick and is harder to use as a straight spray than say Gtechniq Liquid Crystal. I’m getting an adhesive-like residue using the megs, so I assume I’m using too much. But too little and it streaks.

any advice? I’m considering maybe an elixir of the wax and the ceramic detailer.... but That’s been done

Yup!

Brought my car to a local detailer to get it "detailed" for a $180 special.

Well, when I picked it up I asked what he used and he told me Meguair`s Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax - I wasn`t "thrilled"...

But anyway, to enhance and maintain it - the next day I went and bought the Meguair`s Hybrid Ceramic Spray Wax and the Ceramic Detailer.

I saw a video on YouTube by a very reputable detailer (probably the same one you have seen) where he said the spray wax holds up much better if it is applied dry - so that is what I did.

It did leave a few streak marks - but after applying the ceramic detailer the next day - it looked perfect.

This stuff is supposedly outlasting some very popular and much more expensive ceramic coatings in head-to-head testings done by YouTube detailer`s videos.

Yup! Thanks for the reply pologuy (hey that rhymes). The Hybrid Ceramic Wax goes on SO thick, you need something to cut it with. Is the Ceramic Detailer roughly the same consistency as other QDs? Does it flash quickly?

My preliminary results with Hybrid Ceramic Wax is that it looks better and lasts longer than Gtechniq C2V3, so at the price, I`m thrilled, but if I go cutting it with a normal detailer, protection might fall off, and there`s easier options.

Megs Hybrid Ceramic Detailer is fairly thick for a QD, so not sure if it would be good for cutting? It also has decent 1-2 week protection on it’s own.

Here`s my car after the "dry application" of Megs Hybrid Ceramic Detailer. Ive seen more depth, but for the effort and expected longevity, I`m sticking with it for a while. I`m trying hard not to top it with wax, and I`m afraid the wax would jet "sit there" and wash off at the first rain.
