Meg's G100 vs. Meg's G110

It is my understanding that the original Meg's G100 is a re-badged PC7424 with a lifetime warranty, and that the soon-to-be released Meg's G110 is going to be a re-badged UDM. Is this correct? And if so, will the G110 have the same lifetime warrantly? I've been seeing more and more people having trouble with their UDM breaking down, I'm sure it will get better once the bugs are worked out. Anyone know if the PC had difficulties when it was first released? Thanks, Blain

Hi,

I dont know about the G110 and the UDM being the same. Meguiars have promised a before christmas UK release and the UDM still hasnt give us a certain date, maybe they are not the same?!

It would be intreasting to get the answer to this!!

Meguiar's has denied this. They are probably using semantics, and it would certainly seem that there is some shared lineage, but the specs are slightly different. One could speculate that the G110 is closer to the UDM 2000 (if there ever is going to be such a thing).

Being that the PC was/is primarily an orbital sander, made by a large company, I'm going to say we (the community) wouldn't know, but my guess is it didn't.

The PC, when it was first released many, many years ago, was one of the best orbital sanders out there, and at the time it was first released, it was to the industrial and contractor market, where they don't take any sh*t from suppliers. It was sold as an orbital polisher by just changing the head at first to a fixed (non-Velcro) pad.

I know there's going to be people with differing opinions, but I sold power tools to the industrial and contractor markets for a few years, and trust this opinion: Spend the money up front on the PC, or a DeWalt or Makita equivalent. It will be money very well spent.
