3M Perfect-It II Rubbing Compound, PN 39002 vs. meg's Professional Dual Action Cleaner/Polish #83

What do you experts think about these two side-by-side.

Same stuff in a different package?

Will they both accomphish the same things?

I have the 3m product.

Would both be fine applied w/ CMA Orange pads?

Thanks for your thoughts...

I have both as well, and use the 3m FI-II with far better results. I think someone here told me the Meg has more oils in it to hide swirls better. That results in a great looking finish for awhile then the oils wear away showing what it didn't fix. I think the DACP "works" just not as well as 3m, but 3m FI-II can be a heck of a lot more difficult to remove if you work it until dry!

I feel 3M FI-II works better as a polish IMHO  , but I have both!

DACP is more prefered in some cases because it breaks down easier yet it has oil and doesn't really remove the swirl, but fills it. I heard it was a waste because of the simple fact it is a filler. 3M Finesse It II takes longer to break down but you get better results with it.

NOT true. Its filling properties are not substantial by any means. It is actually one of meguiars more aggressive polishes. If you use it correctly, they should not come back. If all your swirls are coming back after you use DACP, you need to locate what exactly in your routine is causing swirls.
