Megs Crystal wash.........not happy

So I have the wife go out to get me some car wash (I know, I know), I specifincally told her to get me the Gold Class, but while shes gone I am busy doing some much needed maintenance on the daily driver. She calls me at the most inopportune time, and she asks if there is anything else as they don't have Gold Class. She says, they just have the Deep Crystal stuff, so I tell her to go ahead and get that if she can't find the Gold Class.



Anyway, next day, I get ready to wash the show car for a show........well, as soon as I pick up the bottle, I notice that it is WAY more watery than GC, so, I add a touch more to my water than I normally would, thinking this would be ok, that it is just a watered down version of GC......NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!



As I was drying the car, I notice that there are HEAVY waterspots. Nothing was changed about this wash other than the wash soap.



So I spend $4, on crappy car wash, and I spend the rest of the afternoon QD'ing off the waterspots that this wash created.

Has anyone else noticed that this wash is JUNK?



And on that note, would anyone like to purchase a lightly used bottle of Meguiars Deep Crystal wash, I promise it will make your experience.........umm,......er......interesting, yeah, interesting. LOL.
 
Yes, I thought the same thing when I tried it last year. It seems kind of crappy, no where near as good as NXT. I bought some GC and am looking forward to trying it. I have too many good soaps, would someone like to take my DC for a good price?
 
I agree, I used it a few times and it wasn't great. NXT is a lot better. I guess that's why Megs crystal wash is so cheap and found anywhere in stores, but I do see more NXT washes than crystal wash now-a-days.
 
I used some last year and didn't really have any problems with it. It is definately not as slick and foamy as GC. I didn't really see any excessive spotting with it either. After I noticed the paint wasn't as slick after washing with Deep Crystal, I got some of my beloved GC and relegated the other stuff to grunge duty. GC seems expensive, but it's a great shampoo and has become my favorite.
 
I always figured car wash was car wash, but the smell of DC gave me a sore throat. It smells harsh, it IS harsh as well. GC and NXT are lots better...



I'll never go anywhere else after buying Duragloss anyway.
 
^Duragloss rocks. I had the Crystal wash, infact I still have about a quarter of a bottle left, I don't know what to do with it.
 
I haven't used DC since 99. I always thought all washes were created equal but I found that was not the case when I tried NXT, it's been good to me. But my jug is almost empty so I think I may give either Megs Hyper-Wash or DP Auto Bath Shampoo next.
 
I know it's expensive, but Zymol clear auto bathe is really nice. It almost seems as if it adds extra shine and depth. I have tried P21S and Megs GC, but I just like the results of the Zymol.
