thanks!!

If you have #80 you can use it after that to darken or enhance the paintwork some more before you apply your final wax or sealant. There are no cleaners in #7, it's just a pure glaze to add a bit of depth on darker colors.

M-07 Show Car Glaze is an excellent pure polish that has been on the market for years and years. Generally speaking, it's established itself as the flagship pure polish for Meguiar's and, as you found, it's pretty readily available.

I personally utilize this product as a pure polish immediately before I go to my last step product (LSP). As travisdecpn mentioned, it'll bring a bit more depth and a bit more pop to your paint and, personally, I've found it to be spectacular on dark colors with flake.

As a hint, apply the #7 in VERY VERY thin and even layers otherwise you'll be swearing in a tone unbecoming of a detailer. ;) If you do have problems bringing it off of the paint (and I have experienced this), I'd recommend going to a light mist of a detailing spray like Final Inspection or Last Touch. Often times I find that it's just as good of a result when I take it off when it still has a very light wet cut. Also, a nice 100% cotton high-pile terry towel may be used here to help cut the skin of the product.

It's great stuff and, once you become familiar with it, I bet you'll absolutely love it. :bigups

This could very well be true, but....
#7 has been an absolute bear for me to use. I have tried it several times with it being a real problem to remove each time. I hear how good it is, I buy it, have my problems and give it away. Stupid me, I hear how good it is again, I buy it again, I have problems again and give it away again. Never again!
Also, being a glaze, it might not be the best product to use just prior to a sealant. If you are going to top it with a carnauba, it will probably be fine. (If you can get the stuff off:))
My suggestion would be to return it and use the money to purchase a more user friendly product.

I heard that that is has like 2 week durablity?

Fact/fiction?

Probably fact, but #7 is a glaze and not intended to offer any protection. It is to enhance the appearance and then have a wax applied over it. Much like 3M Imperial Hand Glaze.

SO then it would only enhance the appearance for a couple weeks, making it perfect for a show car hence the name. hehe. IS that correct?

I have used it alot in the past.
1 - at car shows, I would apply it before the show to make the paint look better:D
2 - as a **quick detailer* if I was short on time. I added some to the car wash soap to make the paint shine. You wash your car and the car looked like it was just detailed :D

I learned this rom a painter friend.

It is good for: 1) people with a "show only" car that doesn't need a protective layer, but need something to bring the paint to it's fullest potential befoe a show and 2) as a final step BEFORE the protective coat to add depth/color/richness to your finish.

#7 has NO protective qualities, it needs to be applied lightly. Too thick of an application will turn 'gummy' and be like trying to remove concrete. 'Smearing' is somewhat normal since it doesn't really dry and the application of the final sealer rids the finish of these smears.

I've used #7 a few times. The first time I used too much and had fun trying to get it off. After that I got to know the product and read Mike Phillips' take on the glaze. I haven't used it in a while but I when I did I would do a section at a time and wipe off using a terrycloth towel until the car was completely wiped off. After this I would go back and wipe off the entire car again using a microfiber.I use this product(or any other glaze) only when I know I have enough time to do my car the way I want it done. I put #7 under P21S on a dark green metallic and the car looked gorgeous. My friend did #7 under P21S on black and he fell in love with it.In mho if I want my car to look it's absolute best I slap a glaze on it. I think it makes the car look wetter.

ive only used it once.

it left almost a greasy look because i applied too thickly. The end result was good, but my investment of time was twice as long as it should have been for that product as if i'd used a VM or some other glaze.

I'd pass on it personally/

K thanks everyone! i thought that it was a great product but then the glaze didnt last long so if you wanted that look you would have to go through all your steps again. Which i dont think any of us would mind? haha. Thanks everyone!

I started a thread last year on this polish compared to VM. It seemed the consensus was VM is a lot easier to work with and is better suited for a non-garage queened car. I just returned mine and eventually ordered VM. I've heard that #7 really shines on ss lacquer paint though.

I have #7, #80, and VM. Personally I like the look of the Meg's over VM, but VM is much easier to work with. When I first used #7 I hated it and just recently started to use it again this year. It's all in the application. Thin, thin, thin!!! Like Rockpick said, it's a pre-LSP. I try to use one of the 3 on every car I do. If time is a concern, I use VM, if not I use Meg's. They all work good.
