Megs 205 & LC Orange Pad

I used this combo on my 01 Trans Am this weekend. Turned out really good. Removed lots of light marring the LC white pad didn't remove and finished out nicely. Seems like sort of an odd combo though no? A light finishing polish w more of a cutting pad.

Has anyone used this combo at all?

Not wierd at all--I use HD Polish often on a B&S orange pad on hard VW paint-removes wash marring and finishes like glass.

Would you recommend this combination for a white paint? I'm going to do a one-step on a pearl white metallic Toyota van this week and am trying to decide between BnS green or orange to use with HD Polish. No idea whether the paint is hard or soft, though I hear Toyota is generally soft.

Do a test spot with the green first and then move up to the orange if you need it.  Try different speeds also.  Keep in mind I'm just removing light wash marring.

I read about a detail recently where m205 was used with MF pads on a badly swirled car and this combo did a great job. So m205 seems quite versatile.

Guess I'll chime in with my usual "watch out for those Trade Secret Oils".

I'm seldom satisfied with how M205 finishes out with a *finishing pad*, and I work on hard clears.  Once the oils dissipate (and no, I don't find IPA effective for removing them), things might not look good enough even for people who aren't as particular as I am.
