McKee`s 37 Rep
On Thursday August 10th McKee`s 37 Opened it`s garage door`s to our Facebook group member`s to get hands on experience with McKee`s 37 brand new Paint Coating!
The car we got to work on was no show vehicle, In fact it is the exact opposite of a show car. It was a Toyota Tundra with over 200,000 Miles. The paint was in really poor condition, It had every defect you could name, Water spots, swirl marks, scratches, In some areas it appeared to be washed with a scouring pad.
The owner does not wax or seal this truck like us Autogeek`s would. So the new McKee`s 37 Paint Coating is the perfect choice for this neglected daily driver.
Before Condition
Let`s take a look what the team was up against.
This is the area that appeared to be washed with an abrasive dish sponge. This panel had the most severe damage.
Decontaminating
Before we started our polishing process, We all performed the baggie test to see if the truck needed to be decontaminated.
If you did not guess already this truck felt like rubbing your hand across sand paper, Even without the baggie test, You can feel it with your bare hand.
Using McKee`s 37 Universal Clay Lubricant (My favorite smelling product, COCONUTS!) and McKee`s 37 Clay bar, everyone grabbed a bottle and a claybar and got to work.
Polishing Stage
It was time to start making this daily driver shine, Here is Nick talking to the team about McKee`s 37 Fast Compound and the Flex 3401.
After a few passes with Fast Compound and a orange Lake Country Force pad here is a 50/50 shot of the results!
It was time to get to buffing, Everyone grabbed a bottle of Fast Compound + A Flex and got to buffing.
This was Jerry`s first time using a Flex 3401, I was showing him how to properly use it to maximize the machines potential, Me and him we`re working on the panel that was hit with the scouring pad.
Yes, this is the same panel that was victimized by a scouring pad, I would say 90% of the damage was removed! The team did a fantastic job.
Pizza Time
After the team was finished with the polishing stages, The star guest arrived, The Pizza delivery guy!
Nothing like eating pizza after buffing!
Coating Stages
Before we apply the new McKee`s 37 Paint Coating, Nick explained to the group that we would perform a N914 Wipe down @ Panel Wipe Ratio to strip what might be any residual polishing oils, So the Coating can have the best possible bond to the paint.
To make this go smooth & easy, We filled a pump sprayer with Panel Wipe so we can start coating!
After the team wiped down and dried the entire truck it was time for the coating.
Before the application process, Nick explained all the new features and benefits of McKee`s 37 Paint Coating.
Beside the Pizza Guy, Here is the real star of the event! The all new Paint Coating.
Before the entire team started to coat the truck, Nick demonstrated how to properly apply the coating onto the paint.
Nick demonstrating how easy the process really is, Some of group were in shock, Asking "Is that all you have to do?"
Soon after Nick, handed everybody a new McKee`s 37 Coating Applicator and a bottle of the special sauce.
The coating is very user friendly, Most of the group never installed a paint coating and they were impressed with how easy it is to work with.
After Shots
This thing was gleaming like a diamond!
This truck really did come a long way, We shaved years of neglect and oxidation off this truck.
The team did a fantastic job. The tuck is now shining and will be protected for years to come.

That wraps up the first McKee`s 37 Open Garage!
It was a ton of fun, I can not wait for the next one, It`s always great to see familiar friends as well as meeting new ones, It`s always nice to be surrounded by people who are all passionate about detailing.
The owner of the Toyota Tundra did not believe the transformation when he picked it up, He said it looked like a completely different truck.
Thanks for reading!
