MB S320 Detail

Mad iX

No detail for you!!!
Last detail of the year. Took about 6 hours and the weather wasn't the best. Was hot and sunny at the beginning so I had to wash it in the garage with QEW and at the end the sun was hiding behind the clouds which were letting off some light drizzle.

Besides the obvious dirt, there's still some light swirl marks and scratches.

I wanted to try Trade Secret on on it but one part was recently repainted so I had to stick with body shop safe products.

Process:

Wash

Clay

Powergloss/W-7006/1200 rpm

OCP/W-8006/DA

FK1 #2180 - this stuff is quite thick, maybe a little more than NXT, so took a little more effort to apply thinly. Still came off easily and and quite slick but was looking a touch plasticky to me so I applied some FX-100 spray wax. This stuff was just a tad easier to use than OCW. Not as slick or reflective but gave a really deep and wet shine.

Finished off with #425

For the interior:

Natural Look on trim

Pinnacle leather cleaner/conditioner followed with conditioner on leather

#425 on woodgrain

Engine bay was sprayed with Simple Green 5:1, rinsed, dried and dressed with 303

#425 on exterior glass

Stoner Trim Shine on wheel wells

Mothers FX spray wax on wheels

Poorboys BnB on tyres

Finish off with the pics:

Great job, engine looks brand new.

I was thinking the same thing. Love that engine compartment!!

Body shop safe product not with standing, as a whole, the complete detail should have made the owner quite happy. Shiney, reflective, and deep. Good combination!!

Excellent work all the way around-interior, paint and engine all look top notch!

I wish it was sunny and hot here...wait, it is 77 and sunny right now! Not hot but a good 22 degrees above average and I bet we pay dearly for it by mid January. :scared:

It's tipped to hit 95 here today. I'm probably going to be staying indoors for most of the day. I was just applying S&G onto my own car this morning and that made we sweat already.

I'm quite happy with the interior and engine bay. I like them to look like they just came out of the factory. Just a little sheen is all that's needed, and it took a lot less effort than the ceramiclear. Although at the end the paint did come out nice, I was admiring it as he drove away. The Pinnacle leather products smell pretty nice too, although I've yet to try Z10.
