Mazda RX8 with a killer look

Gen2

This sporty baby is around 1 year plus old and it has accumulated quite a bit of swirls on it. Beside this, there seems to have some stains (could be overspray) on the body too. Below are 2 pics showing the swirls and the stains I am referring to and the photos were taken after the wash and clay (looks like even the clay could not remove the stain)

Swirls

Swirls with blurriest stain

The defect removing process,

1) PG + cutting pad + DA @ speed 5

2) IP + light cutting pad + DA @ speed 5

3) FP + polishing pad + DA @ speed 4

After

The finishing steps,

1) Prime + finishing pad + DA @ speed 3 (set in for 30 mins)

2) Acrylic Jett 1 coat by hand

And I am proud to present this fierce and sporty RX8,

Man you did an excellent job. Very nice work on removing the defects. That is a hot RX-8 too. Tastefully done! :xyxthumbs

I think the first shot of the front view of that car has to be one of the best reflection shots I have ever seen......terrific job...congrats!

Beautiful car and outstanding work on the paint!

I'm finding that if you want super clear paint and insane wetness, Menzerna and the Werkstatt twins are the way to go.

hot damn! that is one sexy car. my only complaint is the aftermarket 'park bench'... otherwise, come to momma!

awesome job. care to do mine next? :D

Thanks guys for all the compliment and I appreciate everyone of them :)

Awesome job! It that a Veilside kit?

That is not the Veilside kit, it is the Knight Sports kit ;)

One thing though, polish those exhaust tips!

Thanks for the reminder, I actually forgotten to do it :p

Totally agree with you...Currently I am sticking to this combo for most of the cars I detail, especially black cars :2thumbs: .

How long did it take and what camera do you use?

This car may not look big but it does have a big hood to work on. The whole process took me around 7 hours and I am pretty surprised that it took me so long to get it done. I am using a pretty old 2.1 Megapixel digital camera, Olympus C-2040Zoom.

I don't mind if you are staying in Singapore :grinno:

I have a red rx8, trying to get rid of swirls...

your 8 is beautiful, the front lip really fits in well.

"1) Prime + finishing pad + DA @ speed 3 (set in for 30 mins)"

Could you be more specific...what primer and pad did you use? What is 'DA'?

Hi Raptor2k, thanks for your compliment. The RX8 you are seeing is not mine, it belongs to a customer of mine.

The Prime I am refering to is from Jeffs Werkstatt and here is the link to the description,

http://www.jeffswerkstatt.com/proddetail.php?prod=JP-0500

I use the black finishing pad to apply the Prime with a Dual Action (DA) machine and let it cure for 30mins before I buff off.
