Been lurking here awhile and have a PC.

Going to do some minor swirl removal soon and wanted to know if

anyone could recommend the best polish for this particular paint.

2006 Mazda 3 ........ copper red Mica

Thanks .........

My gf actually has a winning blue Mazda 3 and I can't comment on paint hardness, but I had GREAT results this weekend from my PC with Klasse Twins and P21S... very simple. I've also used SFX-1, SFX-2, SFX-3, and then P21S and it removed the minor and few swirls that were there.

i dunno if this is an indicator of overall hardness or not, but the paint on my 03 mazdaspeed protege (and all the other msp people i've talked to have agreed) that the paint chips very very easily.... does that help at all??

Mazda paint isn't hard at all and is very easy to work with.

For polish recommendations, do you need to do any paint correction or are you just polishing?

Yeah, Mazda clear isn't very hard to correct. I do like to use 4" pads for any significant marring though. Note that the paint on my MPV is very thin, I'd think twice about how seriously you polish it.

Note that some Mazdas are built in the US and some aren't. I wouldn't be surprised if the paints on these are quite different.

I use 3M PI-III RC 05933 for my aggressive product and PI-III MG 05937 for my milder one, then the Klasse twins. Those PI-III products are getting hard to find, but they're still out there and are easy to use.

Thanks all for the advise .... :)

Just some swirls nothing major ... would 3M Perfect-it 3000 compound work ?

Thanks .........

haha. my girlfriend has that exact car. in fact, i have some winning blue touch up paint on my desk right now. arrived today.

Paint on mazda's I would say is between soft and medium, very easy to work with. Not to thrilled about the orange peel though. Anyways for medium to moderate swirls I use the white pad with either hi-temp or ssr2.5.

IMO it's more aggressive than you probably need, and it doesn't finish out as nice as their older PI-II/PI-III RCs. You'd have to do a follow-up for sure, and I think you could get by with something milder.
