Mazda CX7, Black

Gen2

New member
This CX7 is still a pretty new car, around 3-4 months old, since the owner collected the car he had tried to arrange a detailing session with me but due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to postpone the appointment for a few times. Finally I got my hands on this black beauty. Most of the time the car is parked outdoor and after few months of self maintenance by the owner, some scratches found their way onto the paint work. However, the worst went to the front bumper with some nasty swirls on it.

Process,

• Wash and clay

• IP + white polishing pad + rotary @ 1500 rpm

• UF + blue finishing pad + rotary @ 1200 rpm

After the polishing was done, it was getting a bit late and the sky was covered with dark clouds. I quickly finished off with a coat of Victoria Concours Red Wax, hoping that it will not rain and below are the results, not the best lighting condition but still managed to capture the depth and the wetness of the paint work.

Nice looking black CX7. Almost bought one myself but its use of high octane gas had me looking elsewhere.

Hello guys, thanks for the compliments. The owner is going to install bodykit to his car some time in August and he will be bringing the car back to me to touchup the bodykit. Hopefully by than the weather is better and I can snap a few nice sunny shots :) .

Excellent correction and incredible depth as always. :bow

I actually did a light polish and wax on a black CX7 this afternoon. Overall, it is a pretty nice car, but I think you'd agree the carpet in them is absolute crap. I hate trying to vacuum that felt junk Mazda tries to pass off as carpeting.

I'm actually planning on recarpeting my 3 when I take the seats out to put leather on them. It sucks so bad. I haven't the slightest idea where to get automotive carpet.

That paint looks amazing. I hope I can get my black mazda paint that nice when I finally get my DA.

Thanks for the kind words guys :).

Scottwax - Got to agree with you on the carpet, definately not one of the better one that I have worked on.

pharmboyrx - I believe you will have no problem getting your black mazda to look its best, just follow the good advice from the experts here and you definately will not go wrong.
