before I get in to it I will not mention who, what or where to protect those I'm bashing
I just can not believe the level of dishonest places/people, piss poor workman ship and the amount of money paid just to get to get screwed.
This is a brand new REMOUNT.. 2008 ford F450 chassis with a Medtec class III body, over all everything was nice, it worked... lights, oxygen, siren, it saves lives.
If you paid well over $60.000.00+ for a job would you deliver it to your customer looking like this?
Hopefully not.
This was after wet sanding with 2000 for 20min. it took over 20 hours of wet sanding with 2000 and 3000 grit sand paper to get the results you will see here
YES you read it correctly... I wet sanded a relatively new paint job on an ambulance because the guy/girl in the paint booth should never be aloud to handle duplicolor or testors even thoses products are to good for them.
there are no options of sending it back... the loaner veh we had was in worse shape than our the loaner veh we had was in worse shape than our original veh which was an 1995 ford f-350. there were no real good options but to do it my self. pluss i needed the exp.
I have tried a few methods with a rotary but the emblem and the white reflective stripe are vinyl and do not do very well with heat, so I resorted to wet sanding and slow no heat polishing... this made the job a hell of a lot longer, but the results were much the same.
.
here are a few photos of before and afters

some might say "Dude it just an ambulance" no it more that that, we are a proud group, we love to compete, both rigs get judged each year against other departments who pride them selves also. it keeps the trucks maintained to a standard as high as our training and skill. and for most of us its fun.
Thanks for allowing me to rant,
