Al,
I have the MetroVac metal hangers for both the long Metrovac and the Master Blaster for almost 10 years, and they have worked just fine..
They are nothing more than good steel, bent at an angle to hold the front or rear wheel axles of each machine..
I just measured my brackets with an old micrometer and they both are coming in at 4/64`s thick = 1/16th"
If you have access to something that can bend steel and cut the flat side and drill the holes, it will work just fine..
If I could make one, I would make it wide enough to mount to both studs in the wall which as you know, are normally 16" apart on-center..
What I did with my 2 brackets (which have 3 holes drilled in them), is mount the center hole into a wall stud so for sure, the center is not going to move, and put some good drywall screws with inserts into the 2 side holes for support and to keep it level if it ever wants to move, if it comes loose...
The Metrovac bracket is 3-3/4" wide, 3" tall and then it gently bends to 90 degrees 1-3/4" long, and then bends up 1-3/16`s high..
Or, mount a piece of wood across the studs, and screw in the bracket to that piece of wood..
