Had a new client swing by a couple weeks ago with his 05 Cadillac XLR. I haven`t had my hands on one of these in years. But nonetheless there pretty cool. Essentially its a C6 Corvette with a Northstar V8 instead of a LS engine.

Anyway the paint on this vehicle had seen better days. The owner has actually kept it pretty clean but the previous owners didn`t do it any justice. A thorough 2 step correction and IGL Quartz+ 3 year coating was decided on to get it back looking great.

Prep/Decon

Hyper wash, Nanoskin fine grade towel

Engine bay

LATA, Hyper dressing

Wheels/Tires

Mckees foaming wheel cleaner gel, LATA, Meguiars Iron Decon, Hyper dressing

Correction - Rupes 21 Mark ll, Buff/Shine Uro wool, Griots Fast correcting cream. Adams swirl killer mini/ Rupes Ibrid was also used. This was my first time using the URO wool and let me tell you those pads worked awesome and fast. They leveled this hard GM clear rather easily.

Finish polishing- Rupes Duetto, Rupes yellow pad, Hyper polish. Adams swirl killer mini/ Rupes Ibrid were also used

LSP- IGL Quartz+

J, great foto documentation on this effort. Looks terrific! Some people say this is a car of "interest".

WOW! Beautiful result....these cars were basically hand built. I had the opportunity to see the assembly line in Bowling Green twice when I was there watching my C6`s being built. It was a small line in a corner of the plant. The cars moved once an hour from one station to the next. They`re cool and different.

One of my favorite cars. Definitely will be a classic. My cars black and I hope it comes out half as nice when I do mine. Awesome job sir
