Maserati Gran Turismo correction detail by Immaculate Reflections

I recently noticed that the new vehicle smell that I love so much is gone. What is the best product on the market to replace the aroma of a brand new vehicle? Thanks in advance...

Welcome to the Forum!!!

There are many products that get close but none last for very long. Do a search and you will find many threads about this topic.

DOes your car have leather seats?

The new car smell is from the plastics, vinyl, glues, etc in the car emitting gases. This gas also forms the haze on the inside of the windows.

Good Luck!!

What you can do that is a but nuts is to buy a roll of new vinyl and stick it in your car. The chemical smell from the vinyl will give you that smell for a short time. Kinda pricy thou!

Hello and welcome to the forum! I suggest you to use the function and type in "new car smell." I think you'll be amazed on how many threads are already about this topic.

Happy detailing,

Meguiars Car Odor Eliminator works real good on smells in the vehicle. It doesn't have a "new car" scent but a clean scent. A better smell for the car than febreze.

I'm a big fan of Ozium New Car Smell. It doesn't work so well in my car because I have leather seats. But in cloth interiors it seems to work much better. Ozium is a good product because if the car stinks of something else then the air freshener kills the old scent and replaces it with a new one. When the new car smell wears off, your car still smells pretty fresh. You can get it at Target or PepBoys or wherever. I like it.

Griot's Garage makes a good interior car scent. I use it and it makes the car smell like new</blockquote>

You are referring to their Leather Scent right? To my taste, it does not smell like a new car at all. Smells more like overdosed Ozium to me!

I was contacted for this car to fix some "hazing" on the rear quarter after film had been removed from the car. Evidence of some less than par rotary work was quickly identified. Section was corrected and the rest of the car was evalutated at which point customer requested a 1 step correction and sealant.

LSP was Gloss-It Signature Gloss. I was very impressed with this LSP. It has a bit of a learning curve because you use such a tiny amount and it spreads VERY far. I used less than 1/3 oz for the whole car. While it sat curing for a little over an hour I noticed the gloss was amplified before I even removed the product. It wiped off easily and gave a very soft feel to the paint. I did an ice-water spray wipedown after removal and I've gotta say the beading was crazy. BFWD and Zaino bead great and I love them both, but with the super fine mist that my spray bottle had, even the farthest edges of the mist was beading...it looked like frost! Never seen that with Zaino or BFWD. Cool effect. It also really amped up the metal flake in the paint and brightened it noticeably. Gave more warmth and even a lighter color to this dark metallic paint. Definitely a different look than my go-to sealants. I really liked how it looked on this car.

Onto the pics...

Just a little dirty upon arrival. ONR wash took care of that.

You can start to see the holograms and swirls here.

After looking over the car it was decided that I would do a 1 step correction over the whole car in addition to fixing the heavy marring and holograms on the rear quarter. Here you can see some additional scratches. (sorry the white balance on the camera was set wrong).

At this point while the Signature Gloss was curing, client's wife cooked a lovely dinner for me. I had worked up an appetite and it was absolutely delicious!

Since I finished late at night, I came back a couple days later for a few pics in the sun, this car deserved nothing less.

Thanks for lookin!

WOW Jeff!!!!!
You did it again. What a remarkable job you did on that beauty. The 50'50's really tell a story of the quality work that you do. I have never used the Gloss-It products before, but from the results that you got from them, it makes me say hmmmmmmm. I needed to put on my sunglasses when I looked at the after shots.
Great work buddy:thumbup:

Your work really paid off. It looks great.

I can see why you like Gloss-It Signature Gloss. I bet it does have a learning curve, as you said, when you are applying it.

Stunning work Jeff! The car was in really rough shape, the 50/50s really show how much gloss you brought back.

Thanks Kody!

Thank you Barry! Yeah they did a good job for what I needed, and the working time on the polishes is excellent too.

Excellent job!

That car came out looking fantastic

Thanks Luke!

Big turn around Jeff, and everything came together nicely. Exhaust tips are beautiful, wheels/calipers are perfect, and now the car looks proper. Nice work!
