Well i was kinda frustered cause i was advertising quite a bit and did not get many responses. I sat back and thought of what i could be doing wrong. I have a professional copy machine in my house so i decided to go overboard on the package. I printed up a brochure, flyer,my detaling certficate from Detail King and on the back a few reasons to choose my service.

I handed out 100 a day in development areas and got resonses that day and the next. I had handed out the same packaged almost in those development without the certficate a few weeks prior. I had a detail today and it turned out amazing, i would show pics but do not know how to. Anyways, Im so happy to start getting booked and my phone non stop ringing. I actually got a kid to help me out which saves me some time as well.

So far this week and next i have the following which are all complete details and i pushed the fabric guard on these cars.

Dodge Durango, Bmw z3, Toyota Landcruiser,Yukon,Surburban, Volvo, Minivan. that is alot for me considering im new to the area and people are calling me left and right. Anyways, im excited and i wanted to share this info!

Well i went to the detailing seminar in Pa in the winter time. I think you really only need it for extreme cases. For me im young so many people must be like this kid doesnt know what he is doing, he is not touching my car. After i do a few I bet word of mouth will just go and i wont need it. I have a chevy s10 xtreme the farest thing looking as a work truck, but it is a fully mobile unit. Many people judge by apperance so i think the certfiicate is relaly what made this happen I swear how can it not be cause i handed the stuff to these people just weeks before! That and the 10 reasons to choose my detailing service. Im the only mobile detailer in the area and demand perfection. I got 140 for a full detail on a hynduai sonoata a very nice vehcile actually. i spent with a worker who is in training about 6.5 hours. While that is long time, the vehicle came out EXCELLENT and my helper learned something. Today is when the neighbor came over and was blown away and booked for his z3 and toyota suv.

Congrats! I too have realized increase business once I implemented some well thought out advertising and marketing programs. The bottom line is not to give up and keep on promoting to the same people. :xyxthumbs

Thanks guys for the great feedback, im just so excited cause i was almost getting ready to lay off it a little. Im very persistant when it comes to everything, but it seemed like i followed everything that was right to do and it didnt work out. Now it is working out far beyond what i dreamed of.

Okay, well first i went door to door thinking that would increase my odds. It wasnt working that well, cause i said it takes to much time to actually do that anwhere. Plus many looked at me as a kid with a logo on his shirt calling himself a detailer since im only 22.

Then i sat back and said, well office buildings should work better. I went to these office buildings and nothing happened either. I said there must be a way i can reach alot of customers, but push so much info down there throats, they will be interested enough to read it. So i said it is illegal to put these flyers into the mailbox, but not the paper boxes.Almost every development house house a paper box, if not ill left it at the door.

I used a brochure that had all my services, then a spring special flyer, then my cerfticate of Detail King Training and on the back reasons to choose my service. phone started ringing that night and crazy the next day!

oh yeah,so i made 100 a day since my mom has a professional 12k copier. I went to the neighborhoods and put them in all the mailboxes. It costs me only about 20 bucks in paper or so,but i got a good response. last thing, i also looked at my surrouding developments. While most of them seem to have the same average income bracket, i had to choose which one to hit first.

I chose the ones with the houses that were close together with very little privacy. ie: not back far from the road, not much trees, not close together. This reason is because when i did get a job everyone else was nosy and saw. Just in that developement it turned into 2 more jobs which is totally 325 almost.

Congrats on the increase in business quaman! I may have to put my Detail King certificate to work too :D I attended the April 04 (or maybe it was March :D, can't remember) seminar this year. You mentioned that you are 22 so the certificate may have built some credibility. I'm only 19, so this may help a lot. Thanks again for the info quaman!

Yeah no problem to all you guys!! I really think the certficate is what made me get any business at all!! I know that is a stretch, but even the last job I did the guy said "wow, you know what u are doing, ur certified". I was like sure thing and he is like when can u do my durango!!

Sweet...same thing kinda happened to me. I just did my bosses jeep here at work and word of mouth got around and in one day i picked up 4 more cars! Some nice cars too....a BMW z3...lexus.. Should be fun! Im taking a Convertable GT mustang home tonight. Detailing is lots of work but once you done you will have the biggest smile on your face looking at the finished product. I love it!

You know, this is a great idea, but what about the fact that i have no certificate, but i personally teach classes, and other people how to detail? Should i print up my own certificate to myself, and tell them that if i can teach and "certify" someone else, then i damn well better be good enough to do it myself
