Makita Owners - Bail Handle or Side Handle

FWIW, currently have a Fein and the Metabo polisher in the stash.

I've used the Makita from someone I knew, and I leaning on using a *trigger* style rotary as my primary rotary as I like the feather on/feather off.

For all of ya'll runing Mak's, is the bail handle the way to go or the side handle. One thing I noticed when using the Mak, is that you can't really use it handleless as the head get's pretty hot...

I've broken the single Auto Detail Promise I made this year.....which was spend more $$ on AD toys and focus more on process . Gotta love these hobbies.

Huh...mine never got that hot; I don't think I've *ever* used the (side) handle on it  IIRC Mike Phillips uses his almost exclusively without a handle too.

Does everybody's Makita get the hot-head thing? I haven't run mine for hours on end more than a few times, but I woulda thought that Mike does it all the time.

All the one's I've owned have always got pretty hot. So hot I would never be able to hold the head without some kind of handle. I guess it's possible if your wore gloves, but I don't see the point.

I only use the side (stick) handle. Maybe it's just I started with, but it's just fine.

There was one occasion when I could not use a handle. It can be done, but the temp outside was fairly cool.

If you are concerned about the handles, just get the CX3 kit; it contains both.

I wear gloves when I use a machine so I don't notice any temperature change. Just something that carried over from my PC days....

Accumulator -

I do remember when Mike P. used to post on this board....and the infamous thumb *wear* on the metal case cover.

I'm glad a new trigger style rotary is on it's way..

chefwong- Yeah..the trigger *does* seem really ergonomic to me too.

Funny that everybody elses Makita seems to get hotter than mine. But then I'm no pro so maybe my situation is just *different*. Still, I *have* used it for hours on-end :nixweiss

I was never a stickler on weights of machines....

Mak just arrived and I threw it on the scale. It's at least a full 1lb more++ than both the Fein or Metabo.

I guess we'll see how it feels on the vertical panels...

She's built like a tank....

All I need now (or want) is that 3" Dyanbrade pneu
