Making your own wax

I was just wonding if anyone has ever tried making their own wax. I did a quick search online and it does not look like it would be that difficult. All the ingredients are pretty easy to find as well.

We've had a few threads on this. I've had the best results by augmenting the carnauba that I scrape from palm leaves with a bit of beeswax...but I developed an allergy from the bee stings so I can't do that anymore.

Sure, you can try it. Doubt you'll stumble upon something that's better than a $15 can of Meg's #26, though.

funny you should ask this!! i just recently met a chemist and we have been chating for a while about compounds! ill let it at that! but i never made my own wax!

i actually did a lot of research on this and found several suppliers of all compounds found in waxes but never took it farther than crunching numbers then deciding to not do it.



if you decide to do it i can give you a couple good suppliers to check out.
