I am going to make the plunge into Poorboys products. I have hear so many good things about them and I have a reason to try them now. I have a spot on my car that was left by bird droppings. I have tried to remove it with Klasse AIO and Meguairs Scratch X, no luck. I do not have a PC, but my buddy is going to come by with his and we are going to do both of our cars. My questions are-

1. I plan to get SSR2.5, SSR1, PwC(Blue), and Natty's (Blue). Should I include SSR3 to make sure, or does everyone think 2.5 will be strog enough?

2. What pad should I start out with. He is going to be a yellow pad, not sure what brand?

3. Will SSR1 remove any or all of the marsk left by SSR2.5?

4. Anything that I should know that I have'nt asked?

Depending on the padused for SSR 2.5, SSR 1 wont remove all of the marring from 2.5. You may have to step down to a polishing pad and either SSR2, or 2.5, then SSR 1. Depends...
 
yea on my truck i used a cutting pad with ssr2.5 and then did a polishing pad with ssr1 and there was still hazing left. not much so maybe anotehr pass with 1 would work but i just stepped down and did the 2.5 with polising pad then 1.
 
SSR 2.5 & 1 are the correct items to get. SSR 3 may not break down completely with a PC.

I find that the Lake Country Variable Contact pads work particularly well with the SSR line. I would recommend their orange & yellow cutting pads along with a polishing pad for each polish.

Remember that multiple passes may be required to remove defects and to work small areas.

So, I should use SSR2.5 with a cutting pad, then a polishing pad. Then go to SSR1 with a polishing pad.

One more question, if the car is in great shape excpet for this spot, can I use SSR2.5 on just the are in question, and then polish the whole car with SSR1?

Yes, and yes. There is no reason to use an medium abrasive like 2.5 on paint that doesn't need it. It should get the bird poop pitting out just fine, just take your time and let the PC/product do the work. It might take a couple really slow passes. SSR1 over the entire car (or even AIO at that point) on a polishing pad will leave you with an LSP ready surface. PwC and Natty's are awesome, btw. Enjoy!
 
actually the best product to remove the bird etchings is Professional Polish ...using a cotton towel and a few drops of PP , just rub the spot until the etching is gone...send a pm to mgm2003 and he and his neighbor Greg (overly anal) can tell you about how they did it:)

as far as the rest of the car...SSR2.5 with a polishing pad should do fine..depending on how well you worked the finish will let you know if a follow up with SSR1 is needed or not. Remember 1 pass with any product may not be enough, you may need multiple passes to achieve what you are looking for :detective
