Hey folks! Been a little while since I posted something! This detail was important for me because in December I had fallen down the stairs. While falling I grabbed the railing to brace myself and ended up damaging some tendons in my shoulder. So I laid off the detailing and car-related work for about 1 month. Needless to say I was going crazy not being able to do anything!
I reached a stage 1 week ago where I felt I could work, so I scheduled this 335i in for correction. Luckily my shoulder held up, though I still need to take it easy. This cold weather doesn't help either! LOL.
Nonetheless, it felt great to finally get into the zone and kill some swirls. This particular 335i was purchased used by my client. The original owner loved automatic car washes with brushes. Sadly it took quite a toll on the paint. Because my client wants to keep the car for a long time, I opted not to perform a full correction (not chasing RIDS for example). I leveled out as much as reasonably possible while not going too aggressive. I'd say I got the paint to about 95%. The paint was quite nice to work with. 2-3 passes of M100 on Buff & Shine MF finishing pads really knocked it out of the park and left the paint with VERY little haze. I followed up with Reflect on a blue B&S pad, and man - THE GLOSS!
I also had a chance to FINALLY try FlashPads - WOW! I used these pads on the hood, roof, and trunk. The correction was amazing, and the finish - I could have honestly coated right over it with no finishing step. I did anyway, because why not, and why take a chance? Also tried Forte for the first time - this stuff is so darn easy to use, I love it!
For prep, I washed with UWW+, followed by decon with CarPro Clay Towel, then IronX and another UWW+ wash. I really enjoyed the rinseless wash process but spent a bit more time that I would have liked removing the IronX. I think I will try IronX paste next time.
Wheels received Reload because they are his winter wheels. The summer wheels will receive DLUX when he comes for his first maintenance detail in April. Trims received DLUX.

Let's coat this baby!
All done (tires and exhaust tips weren't addressed yet because I was running out of daylight)
Thanks for looking! Happy detailing!!!
