The annual Make-a-Wish Car Show is going to be March 6 & 7 this year in Amarillo, TX.

I am going to be prepping an '87 GNX No. 501 :bounce

It belongs to my girlfriend's father. It only has 5400 original miles and is one sweet car.

This is the only decent picture I have right now.

Ok, someone else posted something about these GN's? Anyone have any basic information on them? If they can perform, that's one thing, but IMO they are not pleasing to the eye!

Turbo V6, Fast Fast, low 13 stock..well into the 7 second range in the quartermile once they are modded..Probably the worst vehicle you would want to race in the quartermile..because they are totally stealth car's..The GNX model is the fastest and it's the most rare of the Grand National's..Popular vehicle's in the drag race hot rod community..and they are getting pretty hard to find. Due to low production number's..Get this I am a Ford Mustang Cobra owner but I have alway's admired the Grand National..Hopefully someone else can shed some light on these GN's...

A perfect quote coming from someone with a BMW logo as an Avtar! ;) (All in good fun!)

Either you're a muscle car fan or your're not. I just threw out my collection of Muscle car Review that dated back to 1989!

I happen to absolutely love the Monte Carlo SS and Buick GN's. To me, they look nasty! It was a nice effort on their behalf to rekindle a past era.

For me, it reminds me of the old muscle car days when a boring family sedan was worked over into a mean street machine. Plus, all the weekend warrior do-it-yourself mod's to really supe this puppy up!

I get a kick out of them. Classic American!

Curb Weight: 3800 lbs

I am a die hard Ford Mustang guy, but the GN, and GNX are the true muscle cars of the 80's. I remember going to Buick dealerships looking at GN's sitting on the floor for $15K. I swore I would get one when I got my liscense but they stopped production in '87. Might he be interested in selling that beast? I think it would look cool next to my Bimmer in the garage!!

He might, but you probably wouldn't want to pay that much :)

P.S. - which one are you talking about, the GNX up top or the GN on the bottom

Hey, I drive a Dodge too! :p

That's pretty cool that they are that fast for an 80's vintage car. I am young enough that I really never knew about these cars. While some people love Muscle and 1/4 miles, I am an Auto-X and driving school type of guy. I would gawk at 911's all day long if I could.

This is my idea of a fast 80's car though! Only slightly more expensive!

The Canepa US Legal 959 is over $400,000! They are one of the neatest cars to ever read about because the technology was about 10-12 years ahead of its time. IF you can believe this, components of it are more technologically advanced than the current 911 Turbo!

IS the GNX strictly garage queen/show I assume? Someday its probably going to be up at the BJ auctions!
