Superior Shine

New member
I will never do one of these again (OK not never but Iwill charge allot more next time)

We did this job last year..

The owner of this was up grading to a newer larger race car trailer. The old decals needed to be peeled off and the coated aluminum (yep thats right, thats not paint) needed to be polished.

 Incredible shine!

I hear ya' on that type of job, I detailed a 26' camera truck and two full sized vans for Channel 11 in Dallas after they removed the stickers. Had to polish them out (all single stage too) to remove the ghosting from the old emblems. Like you, I probably won't ever take on a job like that again but if I do, I will charge substantially more.

Man it was tough let me tell you.

It seemed like each different kind of decal had to be removed differently. Some came off with a heat gun others with my bloody finger nail picking away inch by inch or adhesive remover, or gas or.........

The thing is that it was on coated aluminum. The coating is a plastic type of material that also disolves when gas or adhesive remover is allowed to remain on the surface too long.

Once we finally got the decals off we used Megs #83 followed by #20.
