Maintenance Plans

I was wondering how many of you sell a prepaid maintenance plan. I was considering offering this to my good customers, and they could save some money over a year. I could see how this could be very convenient for a mobile detail salon, but does anyone offer this in a fixed operation like myself?

Thanks,

John

offer it to everyone and laminate a card...instead of discounted each time, do a buy 9 get 10th free wash, or the like

whether it is for a "good customer" or not, money it money! Each day you come home with more than you started with is a good day!

I just moved into my first shop and I plan on offering a wash, wash & vac, and a wash & vac +wax as maintenance services to past customers. I'm not going to offer those services to new customers, as I don't want price shoppers with crappy vehicles flocking to my shop due to the inexpensive-ness of those services. I plan on doing some sort of offer like "toyotaguy" outlined with those services only.

Mike having a set shop you're going to get those flockers anyway. It's the nature of the business. Now you can turn them all away if you want or you can take some of their money and offer something simple. It's really one of the biggest differences between mobile detailing where you can pick and choose all of your clients and a shop owner that has good traffic and visability where you have a ton of people just stopping in to see what your all about.

That's a good point Jake. I'm sure there's a few things I will need to learn going from a mobile operation to a shop.

By the way, I haven't forgotten about your last PM. I just haven't gotten around to responding. :wall

I offer monthly and semi annual packages.

A good rule of thumb is to never offer a product that you don't think will be a key profit driver. Simple as that.
