Mad becaue of blackfire!

Last thursday, I applied blackfire by teh directions. Polish and all. I even went as far as to use APC to the de-waxing ratio on the bottle.

After i did this, it was shiny. very nice shine. The next day it rained. Water beaded up nicely! Yesterday it rained. My truck did not move, but the water was almost non existant on the paint.

Today I go to wash my truck becaue it was a little dirty. I spray the hood, and the water just sat there! :( I sprayed the side, and it jus sat there again!

This just ticks me off! I go through all those steps by the directions, and this happens! Not even a solid week!

Time to go back to s100, or wait a couple days and use einszett when it gets here.

It does sound like original formula BF.

it is. Are you saying the orig. only lastes days, not weeks, and the new stuff lasts weeks, not days?

If that is the case it will only make me more mad. The site says 180 days, which is what i remmeber with bf1's website

I did a mini-test on BF 1 vs BF 2 durability. Blackfire 1 stopped beading after one wash, and Blackfire 2 beads nicely after 3 washes. I did one wash per week with Meguiar's Gold Class Shampoo.

i would call this worse than poor. It is even worse than my typing!

but seriously, this just pisses me off. I will not be trying another CMA product for a logn time because thes Website was TOTALY misleading. Not trustworthy anymore. Also, there's plenty of other places I can get the stuff I need without running the risk of somthing like this ever happening again. If it happens with a diff. company then they can kiss it too!

Blackfire never was big in the beading catagory. It just sheets more than beads. Just because there aren't beads doesn't mean its not still there. How did it look a week later? That is what Blackfire does. It looks good. The way water reacts with it is second to how it looks in my opinion.

Jng, the water just site there! it doesn't bead, or sheet!

I spray the hood, and the water just sat there! I sprayed the side, and it jus sat there again!

It just sits there! I looked at it for about 3 mins, and the water just sat there!

I'm wondering if my neighbors got mad last night and used some prepsol on my truck :D (joking of course.)

Agreed, and while I don't want to beat a dead horse, the same thing happened with that Mercedes E420 - the water "clung" to the paint rather than sheeting off. I understand that a product might not bead, but there's a huge difference between sheeting and "clinging"

Sorry to hear about your bad experience - it certainly doesn't jive with my BF1 experience. While I haven't bad a whole lot of attention to the BF after I wash, I do when it rains and it beads pretty good on my wife's black Mercedes and my silver car as well. And as others have said in this post, it does look quite good after a week or so. I do get the dust collection that others have spoken of in the past.

One other thing: I do use the gloss spray after washing...

... with the original formulation. That is why they re-formulated to BF II. Rather than getting so upset and dissing CMA, try calling Terry and maybe he could work something out with you.:nixweiss

You should have noted that you were using BF I rather than lumping in all Blackfires products. Give Terry a call.:wavey
