I had some stuff on the Mach that I needed the master for...So Sean came by to help me do the impossible...Lose a few scratches and make the Mach 1 even deeper and wetter.

Sean is a true master...for those who have never met him or saw him work - Sean is a consumate professional who has an outstanding feel for products and for the Makita. I've learned more than I can type just watching and listening. He always takes the time to talk about products, ask question about what you are using, and share some great stories!

So despite a humid, 95 degree day The Mach got:

Wash

Polish with FPII

RMG

EX+

TR on plastic

PB Wheel Sealant on rims

Sorry for all the pics, but I cant help but think you guys will love how it turned out...

And of course, even on an off day...Sean's car can stop traffic....

Thanks again for all your help Sean, I think the car came out amazing!

i know, i've been saying if i'm ever in the long island area, i'm gonna take him out for a few beers and talk shop.. :D

Sorry for the OT post but, Craigster where did you get the rear louvers? Most of the ones I have seen are the aluminum ones that look like crapola. Those hug the window pretty tight and aren't as bulky as others I have seen.

By the way, the Mach looks faaaabulous. Great work Sean :xyxthumbs

Thanks for the compliments. I was really floored at how the RMG worked with paint. Really adds a depth and slight darkening that is breathtaking up close.

rjstaaf,

They are made by Astra Hammond. They are a molded fiberglass that tilt up to clean. They attach to the window without having to cut or modify the body at all. I got them here:

I was unsure about putting them on initally, as I plan to leave the car completely stock. But once I did, I cant picture the car without them. They keep it much cooler, and look awesome in person. No rattles, no trouble, installed in about 40 minutes.

After they were done I put a coat of UPP on the glass and it stays clean just rinsing water and wiping. I think they are nicer and will stay nicer than the powder coated aluminum ones by Visus, but everyone has a different opinion.

I've never seen Azure Blue look that wet. Great job on owning a great car, and great job to Sean for taking good care of it for you!!

Thanks 04Cobra.

Im sure you know how touchy Ford paint can be. Sometimes the PC doesnt cut it, and a good doctor doesnt operate on himself........ :grinno: I wanted to take the Mach a little further, and I've been at a sticking point lately. I hadnt hung with Sean since Nov, and I knew he'd have a few new tricks in his Goody Bag.....

Actually, I've tossed my old Sears Rotary which mostly saw boat work. Even though Ive got my new Makita, watching guys like Sean up close is a chance for an old dog like me to learn new tricks....I didnt want to test the new machine and wind up looking like Garth in Waynes World when they have Waynes car at the auto shop... (Geez, really showing my age now...)

I wish I could spend a day with each of you guys, just watching, talking and learning. Everyone here has great advice, experience. Detailing has been a great thearpy for me in so many ways. Maybe one day I can give back all I get from you guys here.

Thanks again to everyone.

I love seeing pictures of your car. That’s my favorite color on that model. The second shot has to put a smile on your face.

You're lucky to live near Sean and have access to his talent. He does amazing work, not to mention that he's a very good person.

Sean = God.......???

Well, at least a real down to earth guy that gets as much from helping as the person being helped....Angel in disguise, maybe??

fitzz47,

RMG is Red Machine Glaze from Clearkote. Deepens, darkens darker colored solids. Put it on after polishing but before sealing/waxing.

Spree,

Only if I get to visit him in Hawaii and see Hula girls in the reflections of his Mach. Actually Hirosh helped make my decision to move away from Z2 in the first place. The Z2 was reflective, but lacked depth. Once I saw Hirosh's finish and talked to him, I knew deeper look was the way I wanted to go.

craigster, your Mach1 looks awesome! i especially love that hood shot! and the louvers are a very nice touch. :2thumbs: and you know what is interesting? it was sean who influenced me in some of my product decisions (EX w/carnauba, Natty's, FMJ, TS, etc). i just love how his 'tegra comes out all the time. :woot:

anyways, Mach On! (nice license plate, btw) :xyxthumbs

Hmmm looks like I am gonna have to get out there and detail my Mustang this weekend :buffing:

Now I just have to figure out what to use :D I was going to try out the Zaino Fusion and put on some Z2Pro but, I think I am gonna go Klasse AIO/SG again and this time top with UPP.

I have been using Zaino for years but, just recently purchased Z2Pro and Fusion so no, I have not tried them yet. I was going to this detail but, I think I wanna go with the Klasse twins again. I have been anxious to try UPP as a topper for SG.
