M3 Engine Detail

Just imported a 2005 M3 from the US into Canada.

I detailed the engine with P21S Total Auto Wash, hosed off gently, and dried with MF's.

Here is a pic

It was easy as the car is only a bit over a year old and from the Portland area.

It was fairly dusty though....sorry for no before pic.

I did have a few white spots left in a few areas.

Is this cosmoline or just dried up soap or some other chemical?

It sure is stubborn

The spots are from good ole BMW coolant. I have had a few leaks on our 740 and they seemed to clean up pretty easy. Maybe try some APC and a brush.

Thanks. I still don't think anyone sells APC in Canada yet.

I will need to try something else but the soft detailing scrub brush is a good idea.

APC is just "All-purpose cleaner', nothing fancy. It's just usually used in a diluted form to clean up all sorts of gunk on our cars!

oooh...I'm envious- that makes my E36 look like a real junker!

Yeah, those spots do *not* look like the BMW undercoating/cosmoline (which can look white but looks, well, different).

I wonder if letting the TAW dwell longer and scrubbing with a brush would work :nixweiss TAW *is* a type of APC.

Been APC deprived for years now in Canada.

I don't know what the heck I was thinking not taking a before shot.

Been off the board too long and out of practice I guess.
