Tell me about this product please. How well does it hold up? Do you need to top it with anything? Do a lot of sealant's eliminate fine swirls (this is the wording on the label?

Its a great product, it does do minor swirl hiding, but it has fallen out of favor as there are other products that keep looking great longer. I think the common complaint is the looks taper off faster than other products.

It is better than NXT but the looks do taper off at about two months but gives four months of really good protecion the have M135 detailer which has the hydrophobic polymers in it.

Well that's to bad. I made an impulse purchase of a bottle of M21 2.0 and hoping to get a few rave reviews on it. I was planing on applying it next week over the Labor Day weekend.

I don't think you'll be disappointed. I have v1 and it's impressive...v2 is suppose to be better. :up

I must say that the newest M21 2.0 is "Awesome" I use it on a very regularly basis, which would be daily on my customers vehicles. Its application is very easy, better with a D/A but hand application also works. I find that it will last at least for great quartely results, as long as the vehicles is maintained on a weekly basis. I have yet to recieve a complaint from a customer, whether it be concours or daily driver about this product ........only positive feedback, big smiles and a lots of thank you's.

It's ok, I used it till I finished the bottle and that's saying something cause if a product is not good -it gets traded, sold or given away after a few uses. Blackfire Wet Diamond costs more but delivers a lot more too. It's the only sealant that I tried and will be ordering the half gallon size when the bottle runs out.

Its a pretty good sealant, you'll like it

Don't worry about the purchase , this is one of my favorites. It holds up fine and stays slick pretty long. Wipes off with ease .

Every product starts to poop the days after it's done , but I have never noticed it pooping out faster than anything else does.

The Mike Phillips has maintained NXT 2.0 is the same as M21 2.0 except M21 is formulated for application by rotary. It is a mystery.

A rotary buffer generates heat so if you're going to make a product that can be used with a rotary buffer you have to make a product that can be used with heat.

It's not a good idea to apply a finishing wax or finishing sealant with a rotary buffer but this product goes into the "Production Detailing" world where things are done as fast as they can be done not a best as they can be done.

No mystery, just keep in mind the audience for which the product is targeted at. I know I've typed this up dozens of times, just not on this forum. ;)

I would hope nobody would apply M21 with a rotary:nono......I would first of all read the directions, then either apply with a D/A or by hand using an applicator pad.

Again, love the results of M21 as do my customers!

Mike, havent chatted with you in a while......I used to detail Barry Meguiar's and a few of the Meguiar's corporate cars back when you were with Meguiar's in Irvine. Hope all is well, I see you are in Florida are you still working for Meguiars?

The mystery to me was that you had said the products were similar except for formulated for rotary.

I think everyone who has used both claim M21 2.0 is better than NXT 2.0 for some reason. Either making it handle a rotary (the heat) changed it for the better that translates into looks, etc or based upon some other basis.

Again, Meguiar's doesn't recommend applying a finishing wax or paint sealant with a rotary buffer but they know in the PRODUCTION industry it happens, thus you have to formulate a product for the target market, not just Autopians. I've used a cleaner/wax with a rotary buffer for some down and dirty work buffing out trailers before but it left a bad taste in my mouth and was only doing what I was told.

We're on the same page, I'm just trying to take the mystery out of the why part of using a rotary.

(Did it work?)

You missed the news...

Here,

Mike Phillips' New Opportunity... - Car Care Forums: Meguiar's Online

Here,

Mike.Phillips@Autogeek - Starting on Monday, August 10th, 2009 - Auto Geek Online Auto Detailing Forum

I had a GREAT run at Meguiar's and am now taking on a huge challenge with my new position at Autogeek. Today I was give the green light to schedule the first Saturday class and there's more things to come that are new and exciting.

I'm actually working late to write some fresh content so I have to get off these forums. Just posted about restoring carbon fiber on Bimmerforums, fixing scratches and rock chips on Corvettforum, bunch of stuff on Autogeek and here on Autopia...

But to your question, I stepped down from Meguiar's on great terms and now work with Max and his team and it's a big challenge and lots of fun...

very nice thread here. I was just looking at some of this stuff today. I got some good input now. Its great we got Mike Phillips here now. Nice to meet ya Mike!

I think it would be real ****** business just relabeling a consumer product NXT 2.0 to a professional product line M21 2.0.

Guess will never know.
