M105 or D300

Never use either one so which one to buy? I asume both can be followed by 205 is the 300 MF pad only? I know the 105 can go either way and work well.

Both are great compounds, but if you have the MF cutting pad, get D300, corrects and finishes very well dusts less. keep in mind also that 105 has more cut compared to D300, so if aggressive correction is needed, its also handy to have a 105 on standby.

I like 105 for doing small areas but the short working time and dusting often have me reaching for something different. I actually often use both on a MF pad and get the best of both worlds.

You can use D300 with foam, just like you can use M105 with MF.

M105 is a little more aggressive, D300 dusts way less.

Thanks for the replies guys. Seems like maybe the D300 is more user friendly of the two.

I already have Mothers Compound, Megs UC and BF Compound. Anybody know how the 105 and 300 compare to these? I have the polishes for each of these brands also, same question comparing to the 205. Don't want more duplicate if I can help it.

I can get Megs #1,2,3 & 4 local will these replace or be comparable to the 105or 300.

As good as Megs products are they are kind of a pain in the a$$ to figure out because of all the overlapping products or same products with different numbers or names depending on the line they are marketing it on.

:rofl simplifies that! Looks like I should just go ahead and buy the sample bottles of 300 and 205. I'm thinking if the 300 don't get it I can always do a second pass most of the time I'm not under any time constraints so a second pass wouldn't be that big of a deal.

Many of the autozone stores now carry M105 & M205 locally to me now. You may want to look there if you don't have a sizable order to place or don't want to pay shipping.

Well to be fair #3 is the machine glaze, which is a cousin to #5 and #7 which are pure polishes but 1, 2, and 4 are the classic/original polishes that are now way out of date and thus aren't worth ordering IMHO.

Mine does too but I don't do very many cars and I don't think I could ever use that much of it to invest close to 50.00. I'm thinking the sample bottles are the way to go for me, now I just need to figure out if I should get the 300 or the 105 or both. I'm needing a BP for 5.5 pads and that moves me up to the next shipping block unless I can find a site with a flat shipping rate. been surfin but nothing yet.

Check out Kevin Brown's site (buffdaddy) -- not sure what all you're looking for but I'd be willing to bet he's got what you need.
